Exactly.

I believe that Gore likely played down to some extent what the true effects of global warming will be.....because he realized that the sheep in this country would have enough trouble accepting (given all the vilification that the Corporate-run Media were bound to heap upon anyone who tries to sound the alarm about global warming , an alarm which might -if the alarm were ever heeded- have the possibility of resulting in a lessening of profits for said Corporatists) even the sugar coated version he is giving them, much less if he related to them exactly how serious the threat is.

I think Gore and the producers of the movie tried to make the best compromise between putting forth a film that would serve to make people begin to realize something is drastically wrong and presenting all the alarming info at once....a way might tend to cause people to reject his message out of hand because they cannot and will not face the harsh realities of the situation, or the fact that the the activities of mankind itself are a factor.

So what is worse then the end of the world?

Holy shit. I don't think there's a single soul on this forum who thinks such a hastened catastrophe will ever take place - emphasis on the word "hastened".

YES, the earth is in peril but it won't see such an exorbitant change in the "next five years." This is going to take many years for the more extreme changes to take place but keep in mind, (you may wanna take out yer crayons and make a note of this) the noticeable changes are taking place RIGHT NOW, under yer unseeing and unbelieving eyes… like it or not.
