This my first blog EVER.. I joined because I have been wearing some friends out forwarding websites or just emailing mssg's..I tend to get into research modes on Cliff Claborne types of topics to which most of my friends are not interested.

Today I started researching 2nd Century Christianity and doctrine..Just trying to find out how we got to where we are today..Living in the "Bible Belt of North Texas" I am considered a liberal for my thinking or Questioning of Religious dogma. Around here the only way to escape being a heretic is to read or search subject matter over the net.
I really enjoyed researching early christian thought..I found out about the Apostolic Fathers...Hellenistic Judaism...Christianity or Paulism....
I have always had a problem with the "Do you believe J.Christ died for your sins..freeze tag statements." I have always thought of God as being something so much more than Human..and Floating around in the clouds in the Human Form..I always thought Christianity borrowed alot from the Greek form of Humans and God , mating..I guess I have always seen Jesus as a prophet, and that God allows some humans to be prophets to help the human race in times of doubt, ignorance...or trial.
I feel better now for going on my long journey and realizing that my questions weren't in vain or wrong..Gnostism, Prayer, Meditation and thanking God for his gifts and apologizing for my mistakes directly to God, knowledge of a spirit in action..It's amazing to me how similiar Judaism, early Christianity, and Islam are. It is just the Human Touch that creates so much division and hatred among these faiths and even within each prospective faith, or denomination.

Welcome, Logan! :)

I definitely share your interest in early Christianity, as well as the Church in the Middle Ages (since Medieval times are my passion). This is a great topic.

Great read Logan
I like to consider natural discoveries that shaped religion. Like I know that the Muslim has an angle that is equal to the speed of light. Whats really going on is it just a coincidence?

I studied theology for 2 years and Paul and the gospels were an interesting topic too. Unfortunately we didn't cover church history in very much detail. I don't believe the bible is anything more than an overrated storybook, but because of its impact on modern society and history it is still an interesting subject.

It is interesting that there appears to have been many different branches of Christianity in the first two centuries. Each branch with its own beliefs. There was no one central order. Kind of like today.
