It's considered bad form to post multiple threads on the same topic. If you care so much for the discussion, start making on topic posts and others will respond to you.

Hopefully there will be an apology for this.

I'm just interested in how much money will go along with this apology or will the US apologize.

I know that Canada's federal government announced a law that no federal apology goes without restitution.

almost every thread on here gets off topic somewhere along the line. It's natural for that to happen when so many people post their different opinions.
It should have been easy for you to go to that topic, hit reply and type "Now,back on topic" or something to that effect and that post this link. Making a whole new topic was not needed IMO

LOL no
Its the Fed's (Stephan Harper) who announced why governments don't like to apologize. Stating an apology from a nation is nothing without compensation.

Canadian or American dollars?
Maher Arar, a Canadian software engineer return to Ottawa released by the Syrian government from Damascus..........................

Mr. Arar said US officials nabbed him in JFK airport in Brooklyn as a presumed Al Qaeda terrorist in October 2002 and sent him to Syria where he was tortured for 10 months. Arar, who denies any terror links and was never charged with a crime, charges the US government with violating the Torture Victim Protection Act and his Fifth Amendment right to due process.

Anyways this guy got 8 million in apologies then it was announced the true figure was 10 million.

Funny how the United States paid it and why I think so is that 8 million was actually US money and at the time was worth 10 million Canadian................................
