Ontario's chief of police (who I know and respect from his term as chief here) puts them in the same level as batons and pepper spray .

--Looks like they'll be keeping them in this province

Quebec is a more safer place to live with stunguns

The Quebec government new guidelines will force police to restrict Taser use to situations where a suspect's resistance poses a security risk either to the suspect or the officer.
Police will also be required to call for medical help if a suspect appears agitated.
It suggests, for example, that police plan their interventions carefully so the stun guns are properly used and note certain areas of the body such as the face and heart should not be targets of stun gun shots.

potentially lethal instead of less than lethal might be prudent too.

That a new term I think.

Ontario's chief of police (who I know and respect from his term as chief here)

Did he have anything to do with Dudley George (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dudley_George)

it's a new type of weapon. firearms predate our countries, clubs predate us walking upright.

I like the idea's of a Taser been clasified as an impact weapon.

And I like this idea mikezila
potentially lethal instead of less than lethal might be prudent too.

But it makes me wonder if you could kill everyone with a Taser like you could with a gun...........................?

sure-if you disrupt the heart long enough, or fry the central nervous system.
