My boyfriend just told me that they are testing his 15 year old sister for lupus. There's a family history (their aunt died of it), and she has had some major health problems that have been basically unexplainable. Now they think it might be lupus.

So I'm praying for her and I thought I might ask some of you to put her in your thoughts/prayers too. She's a very admirable young woman, and I'd be proud to have her as a sister-in-law someday. She deserves to be healthy and happy and it makes me sad that she's not.

Thanks, Imp. :) I know you're going through your own tough times right now, hopefully things will start looking up soon.

Lupus is one bitch of a disease. One's immune system turns against them and all kinds of strange maladies appear. Drives the MD's nuts as much as the patients suffer. My wife has contended with it for some years now.

My fiancee's aunt died from it a number of years ago. I've heard the stories of how she was a talented artist and all that good stuff...and how sudden it happened. I wish for no one to deal with something like that.

Here's to a healthy recovery. We're pullin' for her.

I'm so sorry. Hopefully it won't be lupus and just be something else that they can fix. My sister-in-law has it. It's some bad stuff.

My thooughts and prayers will be with you all, DF. Hugs to you.

I don't know much about Lupus but it doesn't sound too good. I hope her recovery is quick and painless and enjoys a long, happy life :)

Its sad to hear of illness at this time of year, especially in one so young.

I will say a prayer for her tonite.

PS: Whats her name?

Her name is Hannah.

Thanks all of you. When I see people caring about others like this it sort of restores my faith in humankind. :)

Meh, humankind is both overrated and underrated :)

Wow, that's very profound... Definitely true, I'd say.
