Dan Fogelberg, `Leader of the Band' Singer, Dead at 56

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Dan Fogelberg, the singer-song writer known for his acoustic, folk-rock songs such as ``Leader of the Band,'' and ``Same Old Lang Syne,'' died today from cancer. He was 56.
Fogelberg, who was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in May 2004, died this morning in his Maine home with his wife, Jean, by his side, according to a post on his Web site.
He published 20 albums, starting with 1972's ``Home Free,'' to 2003's ``Full Circle.''
