Taser's are now in the same category as pepper spray. Taser's will now be classified as "impact weapons" instead of "intermediate" devices, the same level as a baton.
Story: (http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/story.html?id=ce8e8cd7-0557-4f00-87d9-e0cb79b28380) recommendation made yesterday by the RCMP's public complaints commission that the police force immediately restrict -- but not suspend -- the use of Taser's.

Quebec is a more safer place to live with stunguns
The Quebec government new guidelines will force police to restrict Taser use to situations where a suspect's resistance poses a security risk either to the suspect or the officer.
Police will also be required to call for medical help if a suspect appears agitated.
It suggests, for example, that police plan their interventions carefully so the stun guns are properly used and note certain areas of the body such as the face and heart should not be targets of stun gun shots.
