Angel brought up a very old concept, "It is all an illusion!"
Would anybody like to kick this concept around?
And maybe this, "How can we screw with the "Ilusion" so that it is an "illusion that we like :) ?" "Free hokers and beer!" Right Napster :) ?

Well, I mentioned solid matter being an illusion, and it most definitely is :)
Hold out your hand and every square centimetre (about a 6th square inch) of your hand has 30 billion neutral particles from the sun passing through it without hitting anything but empty space. These particles continue to pass through the earth as well without hitting anything.
The holodecks in star treks enterprise are actually not that far from the truth. "Solid" matter is just electrical force fields made by tiny lumps of energy. The mass in a hydrogen atom is equivalent to a fly in a football stadium.
Well, that is one illusion. Time and space (distance) is another :)
(I just heard a nobel price of physics winner speak about this a month ago, great fun, american guy too :))

As a pragmatist I can't help but want to mention that something being an illusion does not change the fact that our expectation of how something will respond to an action generally goes fulfilled. So who cares. My very existence being possibly an illusion does not change the fact that if I want to experience the sensation of a delicious rib eye steak tonight I will have to go out there and get it, using money which I obtained, talk to waiter in a specific language which I know, and when I am done several hours later use the bathroom so my body may dispose of what it doesn't need. It could all be an illusion, and doesn't change a bit how I carry on with everyday life!

To paraphrase Dio, who cares? It would look exactly the same to you whether or not it was, so why bother dwelling on it?

If life is an illusion, the question starts to be, "Why are we all on this messageboard?"

I don't think the image matters as much as the thought of what someone else is doing.
If we could just get everyone to not care what other people do, we'd have a great planet.
If all I see is an illusion, someone did a pretty good job before I was born.
I would respond that any illusions are probably individual mental conceptions.

Important in the sense of what? The premise establishes that existence can be an illusion. So it's important to determine if there is ground in this premise? Even if your determination itself could be an illusion?
This is a premise that cannot be proven false. Like the flying spaghetti monster cannot be proven false. Thinking about it is good for honing reasoning and imagination though, I'll give you that.
