One reason we are still so dependent on oil and coal....

I'm sure the migratory birds prefer flying through smokestacks and smog better.

Funny you should mention Birds.
As I was running an errand today,I got out of me car and heard
a distinctive noise from above. It was Ducks. They were kinda in
a holding pattern,in 2 small groups.I thought for sure they
were heading south for the winter, but they were just flappin and
and a Yappin and actin like drunk on Life,ABOVE.
I ran my errand {took about a couple minutes} and quickly looked above
again.I couldn't see hide nor hair of those 2 flocks. They had that
distinctive Ducky bird yelp.I thought .. Oh well,Ducks are pretty
fast in flight when they get a goin. There was heavy cloud cover above
so I thought they were above the clouds. But I kept a lookin for them
Ducky.I was missin em.One doesn't get a chance too often to actually
SEE & HEAR such magnificient creatures of Nature.
Sure enough, after scouring the sky,I caught a glimpse of them.
They were nestled in the sky,in a different quadrant than before.
And sure as shootin they were grouped and ready to rock n roll.
Man,it dint take long and they were damn near out of sight.
I remember as a kid,my Grandpa had a really nice desk lamp with a
shade made of special material and showcasing the different Ducks
and their speed.Very pretty portraits of the colors of different Ducks
and what speed they could achieve.
I felt a slight loss, when them Ducky sped away.
Such is Life.

There's hardly anything in Kennedy County, TX anyway. I've driven through it and let me tell you; the crew in my car and myself were cheering when we found an outhouse for a post office....after no signs of civilization for almost 2 hours.

Anyway, I wonder what the size of the turbines are going to be. The ones with the smaller blades I could see being a nuisance since they spin faster, but those with the spans of up to 300 feet (like the ones around my home) would have less of a habitat impact because they're more spaced out, more elevated, and operate at a greater capacity. These kind pose less of a risk to birds and wildlife. But if you ask me, the world could use a little less of those annoying gawkers along the beach.
