I've been a fan of country since the '50s. I grew up listening to Hang Williams, Ernest Tubb, Hank Locklin, Charley Pride, Patsy Cline, Wanda Jackson, Jim Edward Brown, Hank Snow, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and all the old time greats.
Now I am mainly an Outlaws fan, Hank Jr., David Alan Coe, Johnny Paycheck, Waylon Jennings, Jesse Coulter, Johnny Cash and those guys. I don't much like Willie Nelson except for stuff like Pancho and Lefty. He is too much crossover for my taste.

Johnny Cash is by far my favorite country artist. I also like Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard.

i'm not the biggest country music fan but I do know I don't like a lot of the newer country people. I prefer people like Johnny Cash,Willie Nelson,Patsy Cline,Loretta Lyne, and Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.

I like a little of all country music. The old stuff my grandfather got me into and it's tough to listen to it without thinking of him,but I do anyways.
Some of the newer stuff is alright

The newer stuff is really country pop, not country.

yep,or it's called "crossover" country. I still like some of it and yet some if it can go crawl in a hole and never be seen again:thumbs:

I just can't take country. I especially hate twangy voices. Urgh!

Paul Anka is one of the greatest singer/song writers of the modern age. He sarted as a kid aned stayed populare right through adulthood. Like Sparky I've never heard of the other two.

I like the older stuff better too. Randy Travis and George Strait are 2 of my favs but I like their older stuff better then the new. I like Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban..2 of the newer artists.
And of course Keith Whitley.
