yeah, and i got his (the author's) point.Good. I wanted to make sure you had read it before I explained how stupid you and LiquidFork and the 'author' and the readers who posted their inane comments on that absurd blog really are.
'Rob' from sayanything writes:
For one thing, he seems to be calling for a government-run news media outlet (how else do you create a media outlet without private ownership?).
Some of the comments:
Uh oh… That is scary! AND stupid. Oh my gosh. With Dems like that they should just start calling themselves commie socialist’s. That is just what we need. A big Gov. controlled propaganda news paper. Where do these people come from????
He is nothing but yet another in a long line of retarded leftists who thinks that any news that does not correspond with the politburo party line is wrong.
Of course liberals want government controlled news media - as long as its a liberal government - and they’ve had it for years…
I’ve thought for some time that the writing on the wall for the NY Times and others points to trying for some kind of government $$ if not outright ownership to continue the propaganda.
Now, what makes this so hilariously funny is that none of you have the reading comprehension skills of an average eighth-grader. If you did you might have noticed that Horowitz isn't calling for any government ownership of media whatsoever. His complaint is that the same people who own the major television networks are also buying up all the newspapers in this country (and vice versa). Horowitz writes:
Congress should not allow these guys to own newspapers in the markets that they serve with television content. Those fabulous Republican FCC Commissioners will do their best to give the "really big bad guys" whatever they want.
and
More ownership diversity means more opinions, and you can come closer to the truth when information comes from as many sources as possible. Wanting the public not to know what is true appears to be "the mantra" of all governments.
and
I have looked upon the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as the "spectrum" equivalent of the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department. They should enhance or strengthen the notion of competition, diversity, and localism and not do as they have done in the past, which has been to act on behalf of the major media companies. The FCC has, in my experience, invariably follows a politically motivated agenda in their rulings.
Please notice that in no way, shape or form is Horowitz advocating a government takeover of the print media -- and yet this is exactly what you buffoons take from his comments. Why don't you people learn to freaking read before you post crap like this. did you bother, or are you just going to continue your M.O. of just making assine comments?Tut, tut.
Projecting your M.O. onto others doesn't help you in the least.

Did you bother to read the story?
....are you just going to continue your M.O. of just making assine comments?
Wow. This is the most incredible case of *the pot calling the kettle black* that I have ever read on these boards.
Firstly, simply posting -- ""Did you bother to read the story?"" --is not anything akin to an assinine comment.
It is a simply interogative statement. Period.
You --OTOH-- are far more prone to assinine responses than sedan or virtually any other poster here.
Sheesh.
