Bottled water has no flavour and tastes like crapola!!!
I prefer tap water..

It really depends where the tap water is from... Some places I've lived have had better water than others. For example, when we lived in West Virginia, our well water had small amounts of sulfur in it. So it sometimes tasted weird.

Different brands of bottled water have different taste. I know, how different can water taste? It's mostly in the mineral composition. The human tongue can taste a difference in even minuscule change of mineral composition. With bottled water, where the difference is usually small (and water starts off pretty tasteless anyway), it takes a little practice. If you read the water bottles you will see all different brands have different mineral composition, making each one unique.
I think tap water can range from great to bad depending on where you live. Atlanta is not so bad. I drink tap water filtered at home everyday. I like to filter it at home because I always picture the water traveling several miles from the reservoir in the pipes to arrive at my faucet, picking up who-knows-what on the way.

No 2 Bottled water taste exactly the same.Unless one is a cretin and
has a construction worker's tongue.
Which should telegraph a message of sorts.
Water isn't merely water.
I've notice that Evian no longer has the same pristine clean taste
it used to.

BTW... it has just been reported that Water is in short supply.
That w/o some drastic steps taken almost immediately, the future
supply of water will dwindle and run out.
Water is THE most beneficial thing a human consumes.Drink plenty
of purified or spring water daily and one will drastically notice a
change in better overall health.
The human body cannot exist w/o water.
Soda pop is not water. In fact,on a very Hot summer day,a lot of
soda pop will dehydrate one.
The best diet drink on the planet is Good bottled water.
I think I average about $1,ooo + per year on good bottled water.
Around $3.oo per day.
That includes travelling and spending $1.oo for a small bottle.
At home I have variyng degree of bottled water.
From cheap gallon jugs to pretty expensive stuff like :
Icelandic Glacial ,which is about the best.

Tap water is laced with Chlorine - at least it is down here - drinking that would be like drinking water from a swimming pool.
I couldn't bring myself to drink tap water, even though it's certainly totally safe to drink - after all they have equipment that filters out all the excrement & toilet paper shards before it reaches your taps.

We buy bottled water, like Michelle said for the convenience, but I generally refill each bottle with tap at least twice before I get another one.

Really the most compelling reason to drink bottled water is to consume as many plastic bottles as possible & then throw them out of the car window.

LOL... Good one, Drew. When we first moved into my house, we couldn't drink our tap water because it had copper in it or something. So after a few months we finally got it treated (after spending thousands of dollars on other more necessary repairs), and I tried to convince my parents to stop buying bottled water. However, they didn't like that idea. I also like to have bottles, but my compromise is that I generally drink tap water while at home, and if I have a bottle I refill it either in the water fountain at school or from the sink at home. So I try to use each bottle at least 2-3 times.

I try to get more than one use out of the bottles by refilling them since our tap water is pretty good. My oldest daughter takes one to school with her and tends to toss them out without thinking about bringing them home.

Bottled water is the biggest 'scam' yet. (and yeah, I'm mad 'cuz I didn't think of it first.)
Number 1... nobody closely regulates bottled water. Municipal water supplies are tested several times every day to assure there is no bacterial growth or other dangerous elements. Unless that expensive bottle of water you're buying comes right out of a municipal tap (which alot does), there's no guarantee it's bacteria-free.
Number 2... 60 million plastic water bottles are tossed away every DAY in the US -- most end up in landfills. (Worldwide, it's in the BILLIONS) The Earth Policy Institute estimates that making bottles to meet the US demand for bottled water requires more than 1.5 million barrels of oil annually, enough to fuel 100,000 cars for a year.
http://www.container-recycling.org/mediafold/newsarticles/plastic/2006/5-WMW-DownDrain.htm
So, before you buy that next case of bottled water, might want to think about what you're doing to Mother Earth... and what you're pouring down your throat.
Unless your local water tastes really awful, you're better off doing like DF does (and I do) and buy a bottle of water now and then, for convenience, but refill it with good ole tap water.

Um,the next time you call a plumber to fix a drain or faucet, ask to
see the drain pipe or faucet.Look real close inside at that piece.
Cause yer drinkin water that flows thru that source.
Water is arguably THE most important thing you ingest.
Drink plenty of good clean water daily and you'll have purdy good
health.Don't take my word for it.Just watch any - Man vs.Wild -
or " Survivorman " and the mosy imporatnt leson is always a water
supply.
Of course in our daily travails thru the urban jungle, not many

I drink bottled water but know I should be investing in a good reverse osmosis system. BECAUSE as SMW has noted, bottled water is simply not regulated like tap water is. And you are paying for some other fool to stick a bottle into a spring that feeds someone else's tap. And they likely get their water from some other similar source a 100 kilometres away. .
As for you traversing through the urban jungles, you are in the wrong part of the jungle. Nobody goes anywhere anymore without a bottle of water in their hand. I have them in my car, in my purse, they are in everyone's hand on the street.

Most reputable bottled waters have a certification or License #.
Yes,there are some good water company who use a city source
for their drinking water, but there are also a ton of generic drinking
or spring water that is sold under a big tent like Kroger or Meijer.
In fact i just found a really great, low cost Generic Spring water
from Meijer. It says from a pristine source deep within Michigan's
countryside.
Some of the best tastin water is from small sources that are sold
in a Big chain.I've noticed that Evian no longer has that fresh
and scean taste.Good water is easy to drink and has a little bit of
a fresh scent.

I grew up in a small community that had its water source from Artesian wells. The water was hard but the taste was amazing. It would come out of the tap crystal clear and freezing cold. At the time I would have said it had no taste. When I moved I thought I was going to die. The community I moved to had what I thought was bad water that smelt of chlorine and left a bizarre white film on everything. Icky.
When I would go home for a visit I would fill containers with water to take with me.
Now when I return there since I know work there on occasion it baffles me to see they all buy their water too when their tap water can't be beat.
I feel safe drinking Dasani because they use reverse osmosis. Or at least they did. Right now I am just drinking from a cheap bottle of water put out by Nestle. It isn't bad at all for the price.

I hope you realize that the manufacturing process of plastic bottles and the plastic bottles themselves are ruining the environment but something tells you don't, or maybe you don't care.
Just buy a good filtration system, hook it up to your kitchen faucet, enjoy fantastic tasting, pure water and GET AWAY FROM PLASTIC BOTTLES FOREVER.
There oughta be a law.
You can also buy a unit that hooks up to your shower and you will enjoy a chlorine-free shower that is quite wunnerful. I'm tellin ya, NO MORE PLASTICS IN OUR ENVIRONMENT, PLEASE!!!!

This is a good article to read about the plastic industry, etc...
http://www.mercola.com/2001/may/23/bottled_water.htm
Here's a snippet...
The study also finds that every year 1.5 million tons of plastic are used to bottle water.
Toxic chemicals can be released into the environment during the manufacture and disposal of the bottles. Furthermore, a quarter of the 89 billion liters of water bottled worldwide annually are consumed outside their country of origin. Emissions of the green house gas carbon dioxide, caused by transporting bottled water within and between countries, contribute to the global problem of climate change.

Yes,Darlin Dew.I've already pondered the thought about ALL the Plastic
we use to bottle or package goods. And that all goes into waste dumps
and then heaven knows where.Maybe a landfill,Maybe an Ocean.
Maybe Burnt.
Burning would be the worst though. The fumes would be extremely
toxic, given the unknown quantity of hazardous garbage.
Hellfire Drat,if one Burns some Poisen Ivy plant,Those fumes are
Hazardous.I dread to think about all the stuff most if not virtually
all americans dump in a plastic bag and toss out.All the chemicals

Of course I've survived a few chemicals snorted up me nose, and
don't seem to bee worse the wear.

Ya, chemicals up the nose is one thing (I know I've done my share) but it was always voluntary, unlike breathing in hazardous air that you can't get away from.
HEY! Have you ever heard of a plant called salvia and if so, have you ever smoked any? Talk about a hallucinogenic trip!

Ya, it's some whacky stuff to say the least. I just found out about it a few weeks ago when my neighbor gave me some to try and it was quite the trip indeed. It only last a few minutes (give or take) but it's soooooo strange. It made things look like taffy, like taffy turning in a taffy machine, hahahaha!! I kind of liked it but kind of didn't like it. Hell, I dunno. I'll hafta try it again to experience the experience but you, on the other hand, should stay far far away from it.
Far away, I tell ya!
