I only heard to 12Khz (And just barely heard 12)

I wonder if soundcards are able to reproduce a pitch that high correctly!

I hit 17.7 and I figured it would be higher than that. Proving once again that I listen to my music waaaaay too loud.

I don't know if it has anything to do with how good one's hearing is, Sal... My hearing is horrible, since I'm deaf in one ear, and I still heard the level that a 20 year old is supposed to hear (I'm not quite 20 but still).

I can hear 12 without my hearing aids, barely.

I'm deaf in one ear too, DF. What kind of hearing aides do you use?

I have phonak act II LR CROS (http://www.phonak-us.com/ccus/professional/productsp_us/fm/crosbicros.htm).

I hate wearing them. They transmit surround sound to one ear, which is freaky cus if someone is on my right and talks, I get it in my left ear~ and turn to the left. Comical for the person talking to me.:o

Are you deaf in one ear too, Dude?

Phew,......... thanks DF... cause like I can hear a pin drop and I can't get past the second one.... made me wonder.

The body naturally loses the ability to hear ultra high pitches after awhile. There was a device invented that would make very high pitched sounds that kids could hear, but adults wouldn't. It was supposed to keep them away. I imagine lots of the little bastards just disabled the devices. Not like the people putting them out there would notice!

I know, I never told you, don't be sorry Sal.
I hate wearing them though, I'd rather read lips.
Aj don't mind closed caption so watching tv is a whole new world for me, lately, unlike 'you know who' that would have a fit.

I don't use a hearing aid. I hear well enough with just my right ear that it doesn't affect my life much, except when someone is trying to whisper into my left ear or talking quietly on my left. I just turn and face people if they're sitting on my left side.

I really can't tell how high I can hear. Because I have really loud ringing in my ears for no apparent reason. But I've had tests done by doctors to see if I had hearing loss and my results were above average. It was really funny though because the lady that was providing the test kind of freaked out. She kept saying "Oh, I just wasn't paying attention, you just kept responding so I kept turning the volume down." It was hilarious. For me anyway.

i can't hear much when there is background noise. all due to 8 years in field artillery, even with ear plugs, and heavy metal music.
