While I'm all for greener energy sources, I think our best bet is to build more nuclear power plants.

wind and sun is free. cost wise, and free of pollution. and nothing to try to dispose of.
i turned my back porch this summer into a greenhouse. passive solar collector. i used old windows, some insulation, and caulk. it will have paid for itself by next summer.

Wow, that is an excellent post and I'm with you all the way, 110%. Living in Western Washington, I see more forests being clear-cutted and it makes me sick in the gut. And I'm all for shooting land developers, you betcha. Don't even get me started on the coal burning factories. I just may choke to death as I type.

Yup, it's all about money and that sickens me. I just got a 2008 calendar from the Arbor Tree Foundation that shows beautiful pics of the rain forests and the animals that live there and of course, some of them are near extinction. One blurb says... "Every second, an area the size of a football field is logged in the rain forest....". I forget the rest of it (DOH!) but can you imagine that? That is happening EVERY SECOND!
