"Memo to the Democratic presidential candidates: You can still beat Hillary Rodham Clinton, but you better act fast.

The former first lady looks more likely to win the nomination every day, showing strength in polling, fundraising and setting the campaign agenda.

She's so strong, in fact, that the race has become about her (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8SGDCL00&show_article=1). And Democratic operatives from presidential campaigns past and present say the only way for any other candidate to win the nomination is to make an even stronger case against her.

"If this were a wedding, we'd be at the 'speak now or forever hold your peace' part," said Steve McMahon, who advised Howard Dean in "If you're a candidate hoping to get past her, the time for nuance and veiled references has passed (http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/endorsements/)."

Another Bush Recession (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2007/10/24/bcnrog124.xml) (much like Daddy Bush's (http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/6Economy.htm)), requires another Clinton to correct things!! :woohoo:

Hillary is not my favorite Dem, but she is worlds better than any of the Republicans.
"... She was, in effect, a kind of ... de facto vice president for him. I kind of think we should look at them as more a president and a chairman of the board (http://www.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/23/books/main3396465.shtml)."

Having "two presidents in the White House," Bedell Smith pointed out, "is something the founders never anticipated, not only two presidents but two presidents married to each other, with all the undercurrents."

"We have a 22nd Amendment," Bedell Smith emphasized, "that precludes a president from serving more than two terms. And it might not be too far-fetched to say that this is sort of an end-run."

*

"Polls show a whopping 71 percent of voters feel neutral or positive about the fact that Hillary's husband is Bill Clinton (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/08/09/politics/main3153044.shtml?source=RSSattr=HOME_3153044). And 26 percent of voters, both men and women, say that the Clinton marriage would actually influence the way they vote."

A Japanese doctor says, 'Medicine in my country is so
advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man, put
it in another, and have him out looking for work in
six weeks.'

A German doctor says, 'That is nothing. We can take a
lung out of one person, put it in another, and have
him out looking for work in four weeks.'

A British doctor says, 'In my country medicine is so
advanced that we can take half a heart out of one
person, put it in another, and have both of them out
looking for work in two weeks.'

The American doctor, not to be outdone, interjected,
'You guys are way behind. We are about to take a woman
with no brains, send her to Washington where she will
become President, and then half the country will be
out looking for work.'

Say what you like, dear, but he's been president for nearly 8 years now... she will NEVER be. So your comparison is apples & oranges.

Although I'll give you this much. She does have brains. She's one conniving, manipulating, double-talking woman. Takes some brains to pull that off and she seems to have convinced at least a few slow-learners.

Just curious... would YOU vote for her?

Never say "never," SMW. I have a feeling it could come back atcha. ;)

Whereas, you and your slow-learner friends prefer your presidents to be secretive, bald-faced, serial liars intent on starting unnecessary and outrageously expensive wars in one country after another.

As long as we don't have car bombs exploding in downtown Dallas, I'd say my president's doing a fine job.

Sometimes I wonder if that's the Libs real beef? If things were chaos in the streets here, they'd have a legitimate complaint. As it is, just sounds like incessant whining to me.

Hmmm. If you're using that as your criteria for whether or not a president is doing a good job, you must also feel that Bill Clinton did a fine job as president. Right? ;)

Yeah, all those whiny parents, husbands and wives, sons and daughters of soldiers who died in Iraq for no legitimate reason... SHUT THE HELL UP, YOU BASTARDS!

P.S. You've been gone for awhile... welcome back to forum hell!! We missed ya!

Thanks! I've been working 10-14 hours days, every day, since Oct 10 on this damned Texana catalog. Big money, no life. Happily, I think my part of this one is finally done.... Of course, there's another catalog (and another and another and another) that needs writing, waiting in the wings. No rest for the wicked!

Say, my dad sent this joke to me a few weeks ago, and I've been meaning to post it JUST FOR YOU! :)

Three men - a Canadian farmer, Osama bin Laden and a Texan are all walking together one day. They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it. "I will give each of you one wish," says the Genie.

The Canadian says, "I am a farmer and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada."

POOOOF! With the blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever fertile for farming.

Osama bin Laden was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq and Iran so that no infidels, Americans or Canadians can come into our precious state."

POOOF! Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries.

The Texan says, "I am very curious. Please tell me more about this wall."

The Genie explains, "Well, it's about 5 000 feet high, 500 feet thick and completely surrounds the area. Nothing can get in or out; it's virtually impenetrable."

The Texan sits down, cracks a beer and smiles. He says; "Fill it with water."
:lolhit:

HEY! Nappy beat me to it! :p

I don't think Bill Clinton did a horrid job as president and I don't thing George Bush has done a horrid job as president. I don't think either of them did a bang up job either. Both will go down as mediocre presidents.

The great thing about the U.S. is its ability to survive mediocre presidents, even a succession of them as in George the father, Bill, and George the son.

That's quite a low standard to judge a president's performance by -- "Well, things haven't gone COMPLETELY to shit, so the President must be doing a fine job."

Bill Clinton dint do a Good God Damned thing as Pres.
He was just fortunate enough to be in office when Wall Street
was in a huge boom with new investors and new emerging
sectors like Tech and Internet.
Clinton didn't even get lucky like Bill Gates, because Gates
cultivated a revolutionary new product and a system for
continual upgrading.
All Horn Dogs Clinton did was hole Press Conferences {never on time]
and Smile that Cracker boy toothy grin as if alls well that ends in
what he says.
Can you tell me what Bill Clinton stood for.?
It surely wasn't a strong Military.Or FBI/CIA.
Yes,he wanted a Strong MTV.
Yes,he wanted strong Feminists { Like guess who [ his wife ] }.
The better to cop at skirt-chasin and the like.
I truly cannot tink of One Good God-Damned thing that scuzz bucket
stood for or actually implemented.
If the deficit was balanced it was because of capital gains revenues and
Investors in a Boom market.
The same market Mr.Groper found no interest in maintaining,in the
closing tenure of his Buckhood.Clinton handed Bush a Recession.

Fooly,

Presidents don't really have to do much while they are in office. Sometimes we are better off as a nation if they do little. Look at Eisenhower. He just sat around looking avuncular when he wasn't playing golf. Sometimes a do nothing president best.
