I just started an oral communications class.. and the lady who teaches it is a senile, cynical elitist.. and one of her points was to bash anyone who spent money on sports, because liking sports is a sign of low intelligence....

My point to her would be.. what good is an intelligence when you weigh 100 pounds and are about to get your ass kicked in by some "lower intellect" who is offended by your smugness and arrogance?

not exactly... someone who thinks that everyone should be spending every waking moment reading books and educating themselves and if they don't it's a crime to themselves and to others in society is putting themselves on a high horse. Not everyone is meant to be a rocket scientist, not everyone is meant to be an athlete... everyone has their niche. This lady seems to think that intelligence is the defining factor in any situation... but reality speaks a different tone. Intelligence might make you money, but it won't defend you on east 55th street in cleveland.

This lady is weird.. she directly contradicts herself and then moves on so quickly that nobody has a chance to contend what she says. I sit through her class as she scolds us on life and get worked up, and now i realize i'm just going to do the classwork and not get worked up from what she says.

People like FT would love this woman.. she rips the U.S. and tells everyone the rest of the world hates us, but then says she accepts the fact that down in the carribean if a woman is out past 6pm they should expect to get raped and killed. She said that the U.S. started WW2 because they misused Japanese words, and that's why Japan bombed pearl harbor.. obviously thought that misusing words and bombing people is on the same level, and then went on to explain how words don't mean anything. I am going to write a letter to the dean and just explain my thoughts on her. I signed up for an oral communications class, not a cynical, old-school, all-of-you-don't-know-anything rant session. She is a terrible speaker, not technically, but just her outlook on things. I have never met a more cynical and off-topic teacher in my life. Basically, if she thinks it, it's correct... if I think it, it's wrong. And i'm not talking about facts her, i'm talking opinion. LIke the question "what is art"... I gave the answer "it's an expression of yourself or an emotion".. and she struck me down, made sure I knew I was wrong, and went on this rant about how something is art if it means something to the person who looks at it. She said "any poem or scribbling you come up with isn't art"... actually, me being an art major and knowing a thing or two about what art is, that IS art. But she would never give me the chance to talk, would cut in when i tried to speak and would then quickly move on to another topic. She is an elitist to the core.. ugh she pisses me off.

What is weirder is that I agree with her on some topics.. like kids and individuality today, and how wearing "Abercrombie" on your chest means you on your own aren't interesting enough. But overall the woman is cooky, and talking to other students who had her, they said she has been reported a bunch.

But back to the topic Prae... intelligence doesn't mean your shit doesn't stink in every aspect of life.

If I were you, I'd skip her class or just snooze through it. You won't be missing much.
Borrow a classmate's notes to pass her tests. On your last day of class, think up something creative to piss her off--like put a big "Go Colts! Manning Rules" sign on her car, lol.
