A HAPLESS reporter has inadvertently destroyed an intricate model of the leaning tower of Pisa.

The reporter, covering a story on a student who made a tower out of wooden blocks, drags a microphone cable across the replica, destroying it before Guinness Book of Records judges could examine it.
