Now the fascist Bush regime says they won't commit the same mistakes in Katrina and Kansas in California as half a million US citizens are moved out of their homes. Most of California's national guard is STUCK IN IRAQ.
Now how disgusting his this????

Come on Truth... I know you have it out for every breath Bush takes... But you cant compare the two.. apples and oranges... Let the god damn fires be put out first before you criticize the relief efforts... better yet let the relief efforts even start.

Do you want me to defend the not even yet developed and deployed relief efforts in California or the decision of the administration for calling the largest and most qualified national guard force in this country to lend support to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?
I just want to be clear what exactly is your malfunction on all of this.

As state forestry officials predict an unusually harsh fire season this summer, the California National Guard says equipment shortages could hinder the guard's response to a large-scale disaster.
A dearth of equipment such as trucks and radios -- caused in part by the war in Iraq -- has state military officials worried they would be slow in providing help in the event of a major fire, earthquake or terrorist attack.
The readiness of the Guard has been described as a national problem and has become a political liability for the Bush administration, which came under fire this week when the governor of Kansas complained that the National Guard response to a devastating tornado in her state was inadequate. National Guard readiness has become a growing concern as the Guard has taken on extra responsibilities caused by the Iraq war and the increased threat of terrorism.
In California, half of the equipment the National Guard needs is not in the state, either because it is deployed in Iraq or other parts of the world or because it hasn't been funded, according to Lt. Col. John Siepmann. While the Guard is in good shape to handle small-scale incidents, "our concern is a catastrophic event,'' he said.
"You would see a less effective response (to a major incident),'' he said.

Now, it appears Bush will be sending his cronies from FEMA and Homeland Insecurity to "see" what needs to be done and figure out how to blame local officials again.
Now how disgusting is this?

um.. last i checked war requires resources...
and hey.. i'm guessing up here in ohio we are unprepared for an earthquake or terrorist attack... that damned Bush!
You are splitting hairs truth and dharm... it's a shame the fire happened, but any war president uses american resources. I mean, all those brave firemen with hoses and planes flying over with water must actually NOT be there right? And the fact that california is a giant clusterfuck with houses so close to each other is just not a factor to consider.. right?

because Clinton would have been there with a firehose the second the first spark was kindled.. and he would have called on the non-existant God to rain down on the land to prevent a spread.... and then lightning would shoot out of his ass and kill all of the terrorists in the world, and economic juice would have shot from his member, solving all employment, homeless, and social class problems!
I doubt anybody in office as prez would have reacted any sooner, and they didn't wait that long. Notice how many people are helping to the cause, how the Charger's stadium is used as a refuge... and there is food and water there. Seems like they are getting it right this time to me...

and that is GW's fault???? Fire departments are regulated by each state, receiving some monies from the fed gov..... The bush administration has NOTHING to do with the current amount of resources the state of California fire department has.

Liquid, where have you been since 2003? At least during Vietnam (another illegal, stupid war) the National Guard stayed home, doing what it was trained to do. The resources California needs are
STUCK IN IRAQ

The nation guards are not trained to fight fires.... They do help greatly in the AFTERMATH of a disaster... however... the flames are still burning...
Do you realize how the nation guard works? Key word nation..... any guard from any state can be called to help ANYWHERE they are needed... Just because the largest force in the Nation was tapped to help in a war doesnt mean other states are going to help here..
is your head so far up your ass you cant see?
