Mighty protector may be deleterious for some people. Those East European US creatures like Baltic countries or Ukraine feel so unpunished that dare to heroize fascism openly.
This year President of Ukraine Yuchshenko took a decision to celebrate anniversary of creation of Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UIA) all over the country. But UIA has ill fame of its atrocities against Jews during World War II. Ukrainian nationalists killed hundreds and hundreds of Polish Jews and Orange authorities of Ukraine open pantheons to them! In the town of Rivne (Western Ukraine) some neonazi vandals destroyed 64 graves on ancient Jewish cemetery. That is already third attack at it and most destructive. Many of those Jews were brilliant scientists and cultural workers. But Ukrainian government much more values “contribution” of UIA “heroes” for they haven’t cared a spit about cemetery incident. Instead of in the same Rivne region on Gurby tract they opened pantheon devoted to UIA, The Ukrainian Collaborationist.
At the same time Ukrainian nazi don’t pay attention that Poland accuse them of praising of fascist murders. Seemingly they would insult and pour dirt upon the same van der Linden more outrageously than Estonians.
And I’ve heard that «heroic struggle» of UIA interested Hollywood film producers greedy for bright images. That would be most mighty popularization of nazi ideas if they would manage to shoot film about it! How many more people would mislead those monsters and who would stop them at last?

The intense racial hatred and anti-semitism of many Eastern European countries die slowly Sonya, especially in western Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Romania, and Lithuania......The only ones that treated the Jews with any degree of humanity were the Czechs.
