Because the " Cos " Knows. As heard on - Meet the Press -
this 2nd Sunday in October.
Bill Cosby and Alvin F. Poussaint discuss the inherent,
systemic problems facing the Black Community in record numbers.
It boils down to Education and a lack of proper Confidence.
Not the kind of Confidence, some like Russell Simmons tries to
proffer in the black community. With Rhyming rhyming Hip Hop that
does little but instill cocky steroetyping and negatives thru
what used to be considered Minstrel-type showmanship.
But Minstrel Shows were stereotyping the Black as watermellon-spittin,
Chicken-stealin,driftin and slow-witted workers with little to gnaw
them out of that existence, besides Pokin fun at themself,in order to
gain a chuckle,at their expense.
Which is what Hip Hop artists offer.
Not dignity, such as sitting down in a Library and quietly studying and
then quietly going home on the bus.
Actually it's anything but.
Hip Hop has proffered a notion to be selfishly kOOl,thru stereotying
that leads to meanness and drug abuse and disrespect for Females,The
system and anything that gets in their way to Be selfishly kOOl.
- " Come on People " - is a book that should wake up most in the Black
Community as to what needs IMMEDIATE addressing. Not Minstrel-type
Rap crap. That is little besides feelgood, selfish, mean, attempts to
cop out from real life, and act as if Art is taking place.
I say,put the Producers on Notice.Take to task those who
Literally have become stinkin rich, from the Rap Crap Agenda, that has
already proven irreputable damage to both the PROPER Confidence
level as well the ability to know the REAL difference from one's
Bootstrap,and One's Rap Crap.
Confidence isn't handed out like record labels. It is almost always earned
the old-fashioned way.Thru dilligence,dignity and thriftiness of
mind and character. Not wasting away on the purchase of Rap Crap
that can't possibly lend itself to Virtue or character.
