FARMINGTON, MO. — Shoplifters at Country Mart tend to favor cold medicines and packaged meats. They used to steal cigarettes, too, until tobacco was moved behind the counter. But the doughnuts were never a target for thieves. [more]

That's what happens when you commit multiple felonies. If he didn't push the girl, it would be a petty crime. When you combine petty theft with attacking someone, then it turns into a serious crime.

What if it were a 5-dollar coinpurse? Would that change the crime for you?

so now the rest of the story comes out. the multiple felon pushed a girl while stealing the donut. Why does the media like to create these storys? Like the story "man get life in prison for speeding" not mentioning he ran over a kid in the proccess.

What a dolt. He sounds like the kind of crook who'd steal a pack of gum when he had $500 in his pocket.

But the headline seems meant to tease and capture, more than to inform.

I'm pretty sure the government shouldn't be wasting money to jail this guy.

Let's just hang him. :D
