What these guys really need to do is organize to change our trade policies.

they should fire the bums. Nothing worse then an overpaid union slug demanding more when some people dont have shit to begin with.

Not to worry, the new boss at Chrysler is very adept at taking things from workers & keeping them for himself.
The UAW takes good care of its' members. At worst, they'll simply buy cheaper cuts of steak while on strike.

they make a guy get paid 40 bucks an hour to mount hub caps while the company goes into bankrupcy. Its like the unions are tyring to kill the goose that layed the golden egg

Those damn $40.00/hr greedy workers! They don't know commitment!
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — "The decision by Cerberus to name former Home Depot (HD) CEO Robert Nardelli, known for his huge severance package, to head Chrysler comes as contract negotiations are heating up with the automaker's biggest union, which has made executive compensation an issue.
The United Auto Workers union says it's being pressed to slash wages and benefits while top automotive executives continue to pull down massive paychecks. Choosing Nardelli could throw extra tension into what is already setting up to be critical negotiations.
STORY: Choice for Chrysler CEO blasted
Nardelli abruptly left Home Depot in January, taking with him a severance package of $210 million. His golden parachute united two unlikely allies — unions and shareholders — angered over the size of his payday.
Nardelli, appointed CEO of Chrysler just days after Cerberus finalized its deal with former parent DaimlerChrysler, wouldn't say how much he is earning but said his pay is tied to the automaker's performance. Nardelli will get $1 a year with additional compensation based on how well Chrysler does, according to a source with knowledge of the situation who didn't want to be identified because the pay information hasn't been made public."
I hope the new CEO saved a little dough!

Nardelli will do his best to take the most away from those making the least, just as he did at HD. HD had all kinds of nice little cash awards for associates - customer service awards, cashier of the month, top specialty dept sales, etc, which would put less than $100 in the pocket of a receiving associate. Those all went away, replaced with little metal (made in china) apron badges. Bonuses, when paid at all, were paltry - typically less than $150 in the pocket of even the most senior associate. Yeah, Nardelli walked away from HD with a final paycheck of $210 million, but don't forget, he was paid a king's ransom for every year sitting on his fat ass as CEO. Nardelli is no Iacocca - watch for him to rape & pillage his way through Chrysler ... is he using the company plane to ferry to & from his $11 million estate in Atlanta?

But, of course, he's rich, so that means he's automatically a stand up fellow. I'm sure he deserved every penny of that 210 mil.

I happen to know that many of the Chrysler executives avoided the whole messy strike around the Chrysler Tech Center today and they stayed at Chrysler's "Executive Training Center" in Rochester Hills, MI, which is actually a fully decked out mansion with 6 bedrooms, multiple offices, a library and an entertainment room with a 50" Flat Panel HDTV and plush leather furniture.
I do not know if Robert Nardelli was there today. I heard he is out of town right now.

that's skilled trades at GM & Ford-the guys that keep the plant working. pipe fitters, tool makers, electricians. Chrysler workers took a huge wage cut when the feds bailed them out, and have been making roughly 2/3 of what other auto workers have been.

How does it sound racist? Are you freaking kidding?
You ask me about my "tribe" using racist and childish fake "tribes" and then you make racist-sounding cracks about "my heritage".
I can think of no logical explanation except that you are an ignorant, racist pig who assumed I am black because I happen to be from Detroit.
I asked politely for you to explain your comment and you refused. I am left with no other explanation.

Feeling put upon? Nothing has been written about race, until you brought it up, that is. As you knew the location of various Chrysler execs, it appeared that you had some special knowledge, probably as a result of a current job assignment. Now, the question remains unanswered: are you a "mon-bak", a "mo-T-suh" or a "ho-de-do"?
