"God brought them out of Egypt;he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn."

I'm not sure, but I think I've seen the "unicorn" problem before.
Tell me, afinertouch, what kind of creature were the writers of Numbers thinking of thousands of years ago when it was written? Were they thinking of a magical pony, with shiny stars flowing off its back as it pranced delicately across a moonlit field, or could they have had a different animal in mind, one that the King James version decided to translate unicorn?
That verse speaks of the Hebrew people, at the time of Balaam, as having great strength...odd that they would use the imagery of a unicorn to describe great strength, unless, of course, the Hebrews intended something else.

Well maybe the translation was wrong and they meant a ram! They are strong.

You owe it to yourself to grab a copy of the NRSV. That way any objections you might have can be well founded, on matters of substance, rather than on an archaic translation. (Though that, too, can be fun.)
