Off to a great start this year! Funny how no one wants to give the team credit for finally getting their stuff together and opening with a bang this year. And even 'trouble makers' like TO have buckled down and stayed out of trouble. I'm sure we'd be making the news if he hadn't.
Football fans are a fickle bunch. So, let me blow my own horn and say:
WAY TO GO, COWBOYS!

1. Lucky dog!
I haven't been to Las Vegas since 1970, and was too young to go into any casinos--us kids had to wait in the lobby! Being a penny incher, that's prob where I'd hang out even if I went there NOW, lol.
2. They don't call ya "Smart" for nuthin......:D
PS Brownies play the Colts, hubby's team, next year, in Cleveland. Last time we played, it was not a pretty sight in the household. Next year, we watch the game SEPERATELY or yes, divorce court IS in our future.

I went to a Browns game back in 2000 against the Patriots (the year before pats got good) and there was a sign that said: "BELICHICK: 2-9 YOU STILL STINK!" Fans were (and still are) upset with him for benching Kosar and overall sucking when he coached the Browns before Modell moved them to Baltimore in the 90's. Cleveland fans fuckin' rock! I can't wait to see what they'll have in store for Belichick next year with the whole videotaping shindig.
At least we won't have Doug Pederson starting at QB this time around!

Oh, and not to completely derail the thread....the Cowboys have looked real darn good this year. It's like the exact opposite of what's happening in San Diego; a coaching change has really helped them out.

as soon as things start going south TO will start showing his true colors, take it from a Niners fan. When you are doing well the guy is the best teamate in the world, when a little adversity starts to rear its head he turns into the TO we all know and love, the locker room cancer who can single handedly ruin a whole teams season.

F!@#ing chargers. Who is in charge over there? They screwed up my team by taking our O.C. Norv so he could become the laughing stock of the NFL in SD. Whoever had the bright idea to fire a coach who just went 14-2 to hire a perenial loser like Norv Turner as HC should have their heads examined. Now the Niners offense is down the toilet, the chargers oare down the toilet. No one wins, except people who dont like the chargers I guess.

LOL I know that game was the shit. My favorite part was the crowd chanting "BULLSHIT!" very audibly and CBS (or whoever was broadcasting the game) couldn't do shit about it. And who could forget Al Lerner after the game, "It wasn't like it was World War 3 out there."
I'm thinking we could have some magic for the Patriots. Wisenhunt just beat his old Steelers team with a weaker Cardinals team...maybe Crennel has some inside information he can use to our advantage?

and not only that, if we take Brady out of the game--that is, rattle him and throw his rhythym off, I say we have a good chance. This could come down to special teams--I KNOW the Pats can and will lose eventually--why not to US????? It would be a HUGE mental victory for us--next to beating the Squealers, lol.

let's get back on track here: My team is doing g-r-r-r-eat
Quarterback Tony Romo is a big reason the Cowboys are 4-0
and perhaps the top team in the NFC, msnbc.com contributor Bill Williamson writes.
By Bill Williamson
MSNBC contributor
Updated: 10:15 p.m. CT Sept 30, 2007
Brett Favre once again stole the show Sunday by breaking Dan Marino's all-time touchdown mark, but he's just one of several quarterbacks who stood out.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's wild scramble set the tone against the St. Louis Rams, Peyton Manning threw for three touchdowns, and Daunte Culpepper scored five touchdowns against his former team, the Dolphins.
The quarterback opening the most eyes might be Romo.
How good is Romo?
Apparently, Romo is very good. Nobody remembers that muffed field goal attempt in the playoffs at Seattle, do they? Expect Romo to make amends this season — he has the Cowboys off to a 4-0 start after throwing for 3 TDs and rushing for another in a win over the Rams.
At this point, Dallas is the favorite to win the NFC and go to the Super Bowl. This team is playing at a high level, and the NFC isn't all that good.
Although the Cowboys still have a long way to go, they could actually compete with the power elite of the AFC and it’s because of Romo. The guy is big time.
Would I love see the Dallas glory days back again! Cowboys have always been my team. Romo, don't get hurt. Got to get my Dallas coffee mug out again.
And how many times have they played Buffalo at the superbowl? They won all of 'em.
I saw an interview with Romo and, the interviewer asked him if he was upset that he is yet to receive a contract offer from the Cowboys and he said "The only thing I have proven so far is that I can lose a playoff game"
He seems to be a well grounded (non Primadona) Very refreshing!!

How good is Romo?
Apparently, Romo is very good. In spite of a freak win, Tonights game was a stellar perfrmance by Romo.
5 I-balls (2 returned for touchdowns) and a fumble. He almost tossed a sixth and tied the Monday night record for screwups. Not to mention that TO dropped another 4 to add to his season totals for having the slipperiest hands in the NFL.
Romo and TO. A lesson in humility.
An afterthought: Dallas couldnt even cover the points spread. Thank you Cowboys. I still made money off of you.

A win is a win is a win... and we'll take it anyway we can get it!!
A reporter asked Romo if the day of the muffed field goal against Seattle was his worst day of his life and he said, "As long as the WORST DAY OF MY LIFE takes place on a sports field, I'll consider myself one lucky man."
He's a keeper.

All dallas has is a very good FG kicker. Buffalo explioted every waekness Dallas has, and showed the rest of the NFL how to kick their asses.

Buffalo's defense was surprisingly effective! However, the Dallas papers on Sunday said the 'boys were having a hard time concentrating on Buffalo because of the Pat's game next Sunday... and they wouldn't be surprised if they lost to Buff. Damn near did, too!
Guess I'm gonna miss the Pat's game since I'll be in the air at kickoff. Wishin I was already goin be in Vegas so I could bet on it and watch it at some sports bar!
Oh well, they'll just have to win without me.

He's not your husband, therefore your thoughts are sinful and I will, empowered by the State of Texas and BorqHunter, have to use this taser on you. It's for your own good!:lolhit:
Good try, sweetie... but I don't have a husband, so put your weapon down!
Besides, he's safe from me. Hell, I'm old enough to be his... um.... Aunt!!!

37-27 Dallas. Final.
WHEW!
I can go to bed now and dream about Romo. Ain't he cute???
;)

WOO HOO! 11-1!!!!
Yeah - Owens and him make a good combination. On that last touchdown when Romo threw to the end zone for the touchdown - this packers guy was trying to bring the receiver down and he was walking away with the ball just looking down at him - like...uh. what are you doing?

Glad to see you're a Cowboys fan, Sassy! They've had a great season this year and credit goes to a lot of the players. TO's made a remarkable turnaround and it's good to see him succeeding while behaving himself!
Now if we could just get somebody to kidnap the entire NE team for a few months...

Can anyone else NOT stand Bryant Gumbell's commentating? I almost had to put the TV on mute whenever he talked!
Agreed. Not to mention his voice is just plain annoying. Collinsworth, on the other hand, I think is really good. Here's my favorite exchange between them last night (as quoted in the Milwaukee paper):
Collinsworth: He's (Cowboy Marion Barber) a unique kind of guy. He doesn't always go to where the hole is. He's sort of like a crab. You ever seen a crab run and change direction?
Gumbel: Mike McCarthy characterized him as the heartbeat of Green Bay's offense. Brings a lot of heart to the field, that's for sure.
It might help if Bryant was paying attention to his partner.

You know, I tend to like the Cowboys (if only because I have Romo and T.O. on my fantasy team), but their fans are just as obnoxious as Red Sox or Yankees fans. Case in point.

I agree with you on Collinsworth. He should really be calling the games and doing the analysis by himself...or at least stick with NBC and take over for Johhn Madden. I heard that there was also the mention of Gumbell saying something to the effect of "...and there's Brett Favre, completing another pass to T.O." during that game. It's as if Gumbell doesn't even know who's on whose team.
In any way, it wouldn't surprise me if he said something like that.

Texans can be pretty obnoxious sometime, just like northerners. I can say this because I was born and raised in Texas.

And I guess no other team's fans like to cheer on their team??
Whatever!!!
and to the newbie........That's how the game is played ;)
There are winners and there are losers......may the best team win....and they did
