I thought this was an interesting meeting. Both of their nation's leaders have very little in common other than a hatred of America.

Hugo Chavez does seem to have a beef with the US,but I cant see what he gets out of an alliance with Iran, you would think Iran would view Venezula in the same light as any other western nation.

Very Simple.True terrible Despots who Dictate with Iron fists and
seemingly enjoy repressing their own People, will undoubtedly
despise someone like President Bush, especially the address he
gave this week at the UN,profiling the accomplishmenst of
the United States on Humanitarian efforts and instilling that same
hearty effort for other nations.
A Dictating Despot, quite naturally melts in the face of such
Hope of brotherliness.
Chavez and Mock Mood, certainly share a depressing, and eternal
mindset of Anti-bushism.

Paul, you don't see closing down opposition newspapers and having his bully boys kill opposition demonstrators as being oppressive? How did you view the events in Tienamin Square? Did you think the Chinese were not being oppressive?

I'm not aware of him having anyone killed (although it wouldn't surprise me), but having said that, I fully agree with your first point here. Without doubt, the man is an oppressor.

I dont know about his bully boys or newspapers, but I'll check it out. How did you view the events in Tienamin Square? Did you think the Chinese were not being oppressive?Well, what can I say, personally,I think the entire western world should boycott China and its goods, but,as your Government regularly wine and dine them in Washington,I dont think that would work.

He's right on both counts. Check it out. He's nationalized everything (and the issue is bigger than that).
Well, what can I say, personally,I think the entire western world should boycott China and its goods, but,as your Government regularly wine and dine them in Washington,I dont think that would work.
LOL - and you think your governments don't!?!?! C'mon, dude. Now that's TRULY funny.
