I see kinky at an appearance when he was gunning for gov of Texas he was at a popular downtown pub with Jesse ventura....I would of gotten an autograph or at least shook his hand but i didn't want to lose my stool on the bar... they were there about an hour....

I saw Kinky Friedman at Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue in Corpus Christi,Texas in 1975. I had never heard of him but remembered he had a song called The Asshole from El Paso. That's about all I can remember of his performance. Joan Baez stole the show and a lot of people walked out while Dylan was playing. Can't say I blame them either. Will Friedman ever be governor of Texas? Nope,I don't think so.
