I don't know how so many people are convinced death row is filled with innocent people when we can't even get a guilty verdict for this guy.

His face alone would terrify even the most violent criminal at San Quentin.

Maybe the jury acted out of mercy. Those poor crooks have their "rights" too--the right to NOT have to look at that hideous face-lifted dime-store dummy.

Phil is nutty as a fruit cake. Let him go back to his castle. Noboby put OJ in jail yet, nor Robert Blake ...

In fairness to Blake,he sat in jail like a poor little Rascal.

As I mentioned in another thread today: The inequities between those with money & those without are a problem with our system.

Ha, did you see the hairdos he was sporting in court throughout the trial? Wow, freaky.

To know, know, know him is to... well, ... maybe not.

The very fact that he got off is how and an excellent argument for why. The legal system is messed.

To me this says,if your rich and your 'famous',you can get away with murder.
Reminds me of that scumbag arrested in Vegas last week.

I haven't followed this case at all, as a matter of fact, the article Leper posted is the first article I've read about this case.

The article says:

"Clarkson was found inside, slumped in a chair in the foyer. She had been shot in the mouth. A .38-caliber Colt Special revolver lay at her feet."

And:

"Spector's driver testified he heard a loud noise and saw the producer leave the home, pistol in hand, saying, "I think I killed somebody."

Are these two guns one and the same, and is that the weapon that killed her?

Was there in fact no gunpowder residue found on his hands or clothing?

This guy may be weird, but it should be relatively easy to determine by physical evidence or the lack thereof whether he was the shooter or not.

All true Vile. I don't know about the gun but no there was no gunpowder reside found on him. The thing about him is that he had this bizzarre habit of placing guns to women's heads and into their mouths. Countless witnesses testified to that.

Also he had been drinking heavily and had gone off of his meds just a bit before all of this occurred.

My only concern is that the blood spatter dosent say he done it.

~Sal~

So did she blow herself away Paul? There has been speculation about that. Or perhaps they were both playing around with the gun and things just got out of hand and she accidently offed herself.

paulc
09-26-2007, 06:13 PM
What if he done it,then stuck her coat on,I know,I watch too many movies but,he was wearing a 'white womans coat',with blood spatter that said he didnt do it from where he was, that would be true,if he was wearing the coat when she died.

~Sal~
09-26-2007, 06:18 PM
Huh? He was wearing the coat when he killed her or he wasn't and then put it on?

Also, that would not explain the lack of powder residue on his hands... unless they were messing around and he had his hand on top of hers when the gun went off.

I don't know how so many people are convinced death row is filled with innocent people when we can't even get a guilty verdict for this guy.Does that mean that you think the jury system is faulty in general, or just when they fail to convict?

Would you want to be judged by 12 fellow citizens who weren't savvy enough to get out of jury duty?

In this day and age many things of true import might boil
down to a simple case of " Horse sense ".
Either one or an entire generation was weened on simple notions
of Honest appraisal and forthrightness or NO.Nevertheless,We're daily
schooled in the art of Lyin, schmoozin the public and seeming love affair to
glitter appeal. As if the more popular one is,the easier it is to
believe in them,no matter the charge or seriiousness of guilt.
We've entered into an Irreconcillable Culture of excess and
preponderance to avoid guilt, not due to the evidence, but mere
peer pressure and media kitsch.
Sure,OJ originally was THE American Poster Boy {man} for wholesome
athletic good cheer and sportsmanship.Even Brinksmanship.Until his
exalted stardom,turned him into a man-made,if not Media-made
darling.Regardless of his personal,Jekyll-Hyde ways,inside his own
home on Rockingham. We now KNOW,he had a really torrential
temper.Whether that was due to all the Pressure of his public
persona, being kept in tact, and only allowing for venting at Home,or
If he secretly developed a Monster EGO,befitting Godzilla, and
could not be set straight.
Same with the Jury pool in Looney Calif.
I blame California Juries for being dim bulbs,weak-kneed and
utterly at a loss to focus on truly relevant facts.
There just inept...juveniles.
Even Grown-up juveniles,in the 40's or 50's acted vastly more
responsible and caring to attention than some of these supposed
adult jurors from Calif.
Therein again,maybe it's not their fault,entirely.
When many respected Adult Politicians, from Calif.,like Maxine Waters,
who taught school, consistently act and speak, like a spoiled little
girl, after first hearing a naughty word, and needing to repeat it to
those in close proximity,in order to test it's Vulgarness and
authenticity, then that's the root cause of where we're at as a
Socieety. Not better or worse than the words and true intentions
of our elected officials.
Whatever the parsing of " is " becomes or Became.

Leper

Does that mean that you think the jury system is faulty in general, or just when they fail to convict?

Neither really, I think we're extraordinarily cautious about convicting people with very damning evidence. We're so concerned with not convicting innocent people, we let too many criminals get away. I wouldn't change the system however....I think the real problem today is that people have been watching too much CSI.

Well, there is a small portion of the population out there who recognize the importance of the jury system and that it's small sacrifice to show up compared to the sacrifices that were necessary to even have a jury system.

I can't remember all the details, but Spector conned a wannabee
Actress into going back to his pad.He was fond of doing that.
She eventually got shot in the head, and Spector started
concocting a scenario where she got a hold of a gun of his
and in her depressed state, committed Suicide.
The powder issue was a forensic hurdle that Spector managed
to overcome.Spector was also fond of toy'in with Guns and
makin like a Macho Man.He had a history of actin out with
Guns and binge partyin and pickin up strays.
Spector probably got Loosey Goosey and the gun went off.
Maybe he was playin Russian Roulette.Only One bullett.
Probably that.
He probably was scare'n the pick-up with a loaded { 1 bullet }
Pistol, like he had been known to do before.
