Is anyone else having a MAJOR PROBLEM with Windows Vista? I bought a new computer thinking I would be up to date... but instead I am just totally dissatisfied!!!
Very few of my programs work on Windows Vista, and there is no update from Microsoft to get these programs compatible. SO SAD!
I miss Win XP!!! :bombout:

You mean like....
The Printer Spooler service stops unexpectedly. (This is Microsoft’s way of helping save the rainforests.)
Windows Calendar exits unexpectedly after you create a new appointment, create a new task, and then restart the computer. (So, either stop using the lame-ass iCal knockoff, or stop restarting your computer. Your choice.)
When you synchronize an offline file to a server, the offline file is corrupted. (Wasn’t Vista supposed to be more reliable with networks?)
Poor memory management performance occurs. (No joke, this is ACTUALLY in the KB)
The computer stops responding or restarts unexpectedly when you play video games or perform desktop operations. (So, pretty much - random wackiness happens with Vista all the time by design.)
Visual appearance issues occur when you play graphics-intensive games. (Just what the hell is a graphics-intensive game? Like, Pong?)
You experience poor playback quality when you play HD DVD disks or Blu-ray disks on a large monitor. (Windows Vista Ultimate-so-long-as-you-dont-own-ultimate-hardware.)
And these are only SOME of the known bugs (That they've patched)
And finaly --My personal favourite Wondoze:lolhit: peeve....
.....When you copy or move a large file, the “estimated time remaining” takes a long time to be calculated and displayed. (This dialog has never worked properly in Windows. It probably still won’t after this
IMHO: Vista is still “beta” in both feel and functionality.

Thank god I use Linux.
The people who gripe about Windows but refuse to try anything else (e.g. Mac OS, some flavor of Linux) just like to complain, methinks. You don't have to pay the Microsoft tax, folks.

I have not bought it and will not be purchasing it as i don't really need it yet. I am doing fine with XP. I will only purchase it if I need it. My brother purchased it straight away thinking he would be cool but then he's had continuous problems with installing some of his hardware. He has now reverted back to XP.

There is nothing you can do ON VISTA that you cant do on XP.....
You have ZERO PRIVACY on vista, but if that isnt an issue, then go ahead and try it :)

I wont even get vista. I have heard so many horror stories about it that I don't think it is worth it. I'm still happy using XP for now.
