Poor Britney.

I had heard about the performance/train wreck heard around the world all day today on the radio and thought that it couldnt have really been that bad, but when I got home and finally watched it - it was! She was obviously not really singing, her dancing was horrible, and she was just looking shaken and horribly off.

In a way, I feel bad for her. What was meant to be the beginning of her comeback might turn out to be the final nail in her career's casket.

That performance was awful and everyone in the audience was obviously trying not to laugh at her. And IMO if she wants to be taken seriously she should wear more clothes. She looked cheap and trashy.
I tried thinking it was her boots that made her dancing horrible,but then noticed the other dancers were wearing the same boots and weren't having trouble dancing. Poor Britney is right

She couldn't even do that! It would've been different if she wasn't the opening act for the VMA's, and if this wasn't her "come back". No...... I take that back. Still wouldn't have been acceptable. Shoot....even Ashley Simpson did a better job faking it on SNL.

Like with most all other music,theres a few of Britneys songs that I like and will listen to,but others I can't stand.
I've seen her other performances on other award shows and at the time thought those were tacky and bad,but damn,she puts the icing on her own cake with this one. Her snake dance awhile ago was better than this travesty.

I also heard that the performance was changed right before, so she might not have been prepared. But with like EVERYTHING you hear... take it for what it's worth.

Personally i think she just needs to chill out for a while. She's going to be followed around and adored regardless if she sings another freaking song. I didn't think she was great before this performance so I don't understand the hype everyone gave her for it BEFORE it ever happened. Hell she probably messed it up knowing she could get just as much attention for that if she had nailed it and made some terrific comeback into music.

As for motherhood...I gave up the party scene and have a very fullfilling life as a mother. I don't get how other people can't be content with what I have. But to each his own.

I'm not blaming her downward spiral on the sole fact that she's a mother; she was going downhill the minute she married K-fed. I guess my point was... she ain't much of a mother already. As I understand it, she's being investigated for neglecting her children and in danger of having them taken from her.

Not that I think the daddy's much better.

Brit just needs to lay off the booze and drugs and partying and focus on what she does best... lip synching and shaking her ass to dubious music-like noises.

Or do us all a favor and just fade away gracefully.

Agreed. Besides, I don't think she even has the slightest concept of a "normal life." Her and the rest of the Hollywood blondes who don't care (Lohan, Hilton, Ritchie, etc.) should all be cast away to a deserted island and forced to survive on their own...cannibalism is certainly not out of the question.

I teach choreography and from that point of view there is a vast difference in her dancing, which I would place largely on her giving birth and not being in the best of shape.
She looks and moves so slowly in the awards video, it is as if it expels all her energy just to walk through it, and she does not waste any extra energy. She was very sluggish.

I agree with that - though she is not much of a mother - I think having the 2 has worn her out emotionally - she was not ready for kids - even though she could not wait to have babies :rolleyes: That's why she's going to the clubs every night , to escape from them for awhile.-She is trying to do a balancing act - trying to act like a good mother in public - and then go partying hard other times. She has no energy for anything else, much less performing. She needs to chill out for a long time or she's going to wind up dead.

I just read where 7.8 million viewers tuned in to the MTV awards show this year... compared to 5.6 million last year.

Just goes to show ya -- BAD performances are even bigger drawing cards than GOOD performances are.

I didn't watch the VMAs, and not because I was out. I was watching something else at the time.

I think people were just bored...that's why the ratings were higher than they've been. I never watch the VMA's anyway, I just happen to catch a snippet of them this time around.

MTV plays for about an hour I think in the morning before it turns on the dating shows. And MTV2 is only good about 2% of the time.

Likely because they still play music videos on MTV2...which I like better than the we-broadcast-television-shows-that-would-never-get-aired-on-any-other-network-ever, way too social, beauty queen jerkoff MTV...Monstrosity Television.

Occasionally, MTV2 impresses me...though most of it is rap videos, so I tend to turn away from it.

I like VH1,they play a variety of videos all morning. I just miss the days of good music videos

I see videos on VH1 just about as much as on MTV. Perhaps it's because I'm only awake on the three mornings a week that I have school.

Anyways MTV has four channels that play videos pretty much all the time - MTV2 (which also plays some other shows occasionally), MTV Tr3s (Spanish videos), MTV Jams (usually older rap/hip-hop/R&B with some new stuff), and MTV Hits.

Of course all of them pretty much only play Top 40 music, which is mostly pop and hip-hop with a little bit of annoying pop rock and maybe one out of every 50 videos is good. You can always watch VH1 Classics if you like 80s-90s rock though.

I agree with you. I used to watch videos all the time. Even found new artists that I liked. Now it's rare to actually catch videos. And when I do, it's normally music I don't like at all. What happened to all the good stuff? Did artists quit spending time/money on making music videos?

Well I don't generally listen to anything made after I was born.... So I don't see many videos that I like.
