For the 12 of you (counting me) who are participating in this year's AFF game, talk smack to your opponents, discuss trade deals, and anything else about the league. ...all leading up to the big question:
Who's going to win the first (hopefully annual) AFF Title?
CarbonBasedLife

I think I have a pretty solid team...although I doubt it's strong enough to win the league.
I love to make trades and I'll trade anyone on my team, if anyone's interested in any of my guys feel free to propose.

*sigh* The only good thing I can say about this is that my team still has 3 players (including my #1 pick) going tonight, so I still stand a chance of overcoming the Romo/Burress explosion.
If Gore, Heap, and Clayton can outscore Chad Johnson by 30+ points, I could still win....not likely, but possible!

Trav, tell your Niners defense to play well against the pass this week. Decka has Bulger and I want to see him with ~150 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. Make it happen!
Travh20
09-14-2007, 11:27 PM
well, they played great against AZ last week. You know they got a couple of stud recievers and we held them to like 40 something yards between them. The Rams O-line is decimated too so we should be able to get some blitzes going. We play the Rams a lot, and I know that if Bulger gets rattled, he starts to throw picks, so if we can get some pressure on him you may get your wish.
Plus the Rams D is banged up and riddled with suspensions. We should be able to run up the score a bit, IF alex can get going. We know Gore will get his.

That's true, and it's called icing the shoe when a guy attempts a free throw from the charity stripe, esp in the waning seconds.
It looked suspicious. He had already kicked the FG. I did not hear a whistle but saw Shanahan signaling for a TO but could not tell when that happened.
Of course, they were playing in Denver, where no one wins, ever, except them.

I heard two whistles before the snap. In fact, I was wondering why the hell they were going through with the play while Janikowski was kicking it, then when I saw them celebrating, I was like, "What the hell? I heard whistles." Then, finally, the bonehead announcers figured out what had happened.

I scored 168 points in my other league this week, 154 last week, it is pure ownage. Steve Smith and Andre Johnson, Shawn Alexander and Edgerrin James, Eli Manning and Vince Young. Pitt. Defense. It's pretty damn retarded if you ask me. Needless to say I'm 2-0 and pretty far ahead in points in that one lol. Hopefully I can pull the AF team up some too.

Yeah, but you've seen the news on Andre Johnson, right? Sprained knee ligament. He's doubtful for next week, and could miss an additional game or two. I'm not too pleased about that one since Johnson's been my best player so far.
You know what I think is retarded is the scoring system for defense. My Seahawks allowed 23 points and had a 2-point fantasy total. Fine, 23 points is a below average performance for a defense IMO. However, Borg's 51 points scored on his Cinci defense only got him negative 2 points. That's a bunch of B.S. if you ask me.
On a side note, call me crazy but I think I'm going to start the Browns QB over Kitna....surely, 51 points can't be a fluke.
Edit: In case y'all don't check the message board in the league. I'm looking for a receiver in exchange for Deshaun Foster....I would also consider trading Jamal Lewis for a good WR prospect.

1. I start Leinart, he plays for a fraction of the first quarter and is done.
2. Steve Smith doesn't do jack shit this week.
3. DeShawn Wynn was up-and-coming for the Packers, but gets nothing.
4. Philip Rivers and Ronnie Brown get three touchdowns each...AND I DIDN'T START EITHER OF THEM!

I know what you mean about missed points, it sucks. Last week I almost started the SF defense, and wish I would have. I dont think I would have won but still, the San Diego D is pretty sad this year, not at allwhat I thought they were going to be. I also almost benched Westbrook this week due to all the injury talk, I am very glad i didnt. It seems every week that guy is questionable but still plays.

I almost benched Plax because of the Q there, but I didn't and I'm glad. I think Vincent Jackson is finally settled enough to be my 3WR, too, so I can get Booker out of that spot. Reggie Brown really needs to wake up and start playing, though.

I only picked up a stray kicker to fill in for Longwell while he was on his bye this week....by an unbelievable stroke of luck, I picked Kris Brown...who scored more points than anyone else on my team.
I'll repeat.....my KICKER...scored MORE POINTS...than ANYONE ELSE ON MY TEAM!
Everything else about my team this week was atrocious. Hasselbeck sucked it up, the Detroit Defense was poor, and the week I kick Philip Rivers off my team, he finally produces. Oh well, that's the unpredictability of Fantasy Football.

The mere fact that I'm saying this says a lot about the quality of my season, but it'll be nice to have the Lions come off their bye week.
Don't worry Lep--Jamal should play after the bye week and he'll get you some good yards.:)

I got the league leader this week, now is my chance to knock him off and take first place!
It figures Trav, you got the one team I fear the most and you catch me on a week where LT has a bye. Well hopefully Carson Palmer can have a big game to help cushion LT's loss. I wanted my home town boy Adrian Peterson real bad in the draft and now I'm gonna be torn as to whether I want him to do well. Do I care more about my Vikes or our fantasy game? Oh well, I hope the rest of your guys suck so that Adrian can get off again.

I had a pretty good game...hoping the Indy defense holds J'ville to 10 points or less, tho I doubt that happens. Thank God the Colts are playing at home..the last time the 2 played, J won.
PS Who is "Howitzers"?
Havok, is that you?
My god, with Brady getting 6 TDs a game, doesn't matter if the rest of yr team does well or not.
SOMEBODY STOP BRADY!!!!

I went in with, undoubtedly, my weakest team of the season thus far and STILL pulled off a all-but-done-deal victory against Leper's team. The only way I can lose is if his TE scores 20+ points.
As for Trav Banking on A.D....looks like you didn't really need him this week.

Wow, my team failed to score a single TD. I'm about to sink to 2-5. Depressing. At least I won some money betting on the Lions game...Now, if only the Colts can cover their 3.5 point spread on Jax.

Suddenly my team sucks. :( At least I picked up Kevin Walter from the FA list; he's a huge improvement over Marty Booker, who was merely eating a roster spot.
Romo's cooling off. Maybe it's time for Brees to get hot?

Are you losing borg? man, if you lose and I win I hopefully I will jump to first place. Or I may still be tied with the bulldog bullies, but since I beat him I should hold the tie breaker.
and I wouldnt start Brees over Romo, no way. Although Brees may be a good choice this week when they go agaisnt the pathetic and floundering and totally inept 49ers.
