I will be 5-2 after tonite.
I'm like the old-timey Raiders, picking up has -beens and rejects, but somehow we're doing it. I know I don't have a lot of points, but isn't the won-lost stat the most important?

It seems a lot of quarterbacks have been having fluky seasons lately. Kurt Warner went from zero to hero back to zero in a hurry (granted he lasted longer than one season)...Trent Dilfer did that...Shaun King, Jake Delhomme, Daunte Culpepper has been off and on a lot, Rex Grossman is a recent example...I don't know why it is, but it has been bothering me for a while. The Kurt Warner "from bagboy to Pro Bowl QB" story just seems to keep happening.

Well Trav, I got scared of the Dallas offense and benched the Viking defense. Too much thinking on my part. I needed all my parts to be going against you and with LT being on bye and Carlson Palmer have a sub-par game, I was toast.
Well it's the half way point of the season and it's still too close to call. With Peyton Manning, Randy Moss, Adrian Peterson and Brian Westbrook all anchoring Trav's team, I'd have to say he's the favorite, but you never know a suspension here or a injury there can drastically change things.

True, true....let us enjoy our 2 game winning streak as long as we can. We haven't had this much fun in years.
I'm sure you remember how terrible the Packers were in the 1980's with Randy Wrong and the rest of their motley crew. And the time Refrigerator Perry ran for a touchdown--for sheer orneriness on the Bears part. (That was the night I hung teddy bears from the ceiling chandelier in honor of the Monsters of the Midway.)
No team stays on top forever--and no one stays bad forever---unless you're the Saints and that's a different story.

Seriously, I friggin drafted Frank Gore as the number five-ish overall pick. He's gotta be the biggest bust of the draft so far. And I was forced to play stinkin' Battle as one of my receivers.
This has to be my worst fantasy season ever. Oh well, now that most of my team has their bye weeks out of their system, maybe I can salvage the second half of my season.

LOL, sorry man. no one knows F Gore is a bust more then me. Of course a big part of it is the O line, which is horrific. Plus the fact we have ZERO passing game. You may as well trade Gore for Mike Vrabel, he will probably score more TD's this year, which is sad.

I think you have gotten very lucky to win the amount of game you have. Normally when you have fewer points then the 3 or 4 teams below you you are not in first place. It seems you have gotten teams that have players have poor perfomances the week you play them. Not that there is anything wrong with that, as that is what fantasy ball is all about.

It is defintely different than NASCAR fantasy. In this, you have to pick 5 drivers and stay under 100 points. Each driver is assigned points--good drivers like Jeffy and Tony are worth 24, 25 points. (We play ESPN Stockcar Challenge).
Then, for each race, your drivers are assigned the same points given by NASCAR per how they finish..... a win is worth 190 or 195 points, etc.
At the end of each segment, usually lasting 10-12 races, everyone's team points are totaled. If you have the most points, you win.
NASCAR fantasy is definitely harder because there's different tracks, etc. Then there's the wrecks, flat tires, DNFs---you can have a great week one week and do terrible the very next. It's hard.
If this were NASCAR I'd for sure be in about 5th or 6th place.

Congrats to all who made the playoffs. I place blame my failure to hit the postseason squarely on the shoulders of Marvin Harrison.
Likewise, except I have an entire squad of pallbearers to carry my Waiver Wire All-stars to their grave: my underperforming first two picks, Frank Gore and Laurence Maroney (yes, my Patriots draft choice turned out to be a bomb...how? I will never understand that). Then I had the injury bug through the rest of my lineup: Andre Johnson, Todd Heap, Mark Clayton, Deion Branch and now Roy Williams. With all of that going on, I was forced to make some crucial drops in order to keep my team patched up.
Derek Anderson's been my only bright spot...and he was a waiver wire pickup.
