Minneapolis is a perfect location for the GOP convention. Right in the middle of a mostly Blue (or at least Purple) State. About a year after bridge collapsed demonstrating their competence in maintaining our infrastructure (reminding the country also of New Orleans, still yet to recover), about a year after Larry I think I will resign Craig pleaded guilty for soliciting gay sex in a public restroom in the Minneapolis airport (all convention delegates will most likely pass by the same stall, many may actually use it!!!)....not to mention Norm Coleman's difficult re-election campaign, if he decides to run. Now Larry I think I might not resign Craig may stay in office for at least another year and heck, he may decide to run for re-election again. (He better work out a deal with Diebold, like Bush did...as even in the most Republican state of the country he may have a fight.) So bring it on, GOP. Between now and then the Democrats will be watching the flop flops of Mitt Romney, listening to the Rudy Guiliani kids endorse Obama, watching with unbelief as John McCain self destructs, seeing if Blowback (aka Brownback) or HuckaBee get the endorsement of the late great Jerry Farwell. And not to forget Fred I think I might Run Thompson and watch him accept the vice presidential nod from their nominee, Bob Dole. And more folks will be watching the Minneapolis Twins defeat the Detroit Tigers that very night, Bob Dole cries "foul ball"....

About a year after bridge collapsed demonstrating their competence in maintaining our infrastructure hmmmm...a modern day meditation...
If a structure falls in a city, will the GOP hold a convention there?

The convention will be held in St. Paul, not Minneapolis.
And it's the Minnesota Twins.

OK, I sit corrected. You are correct, How could I ever miss name the Twins!
But the delegates (at least male delegates) will each be tempted to follow Larry I think I might resign Craig to the men's room at the airport.
Maybe they ought to fly into O'Hare in Chicago and take the bus. Avoid the Minneapolis airport men's room altogether...

You tell 'em, sedan!Well, hey.
A guy's gotta draw the line somewhere.
St. Paulites are rightly offended when they are seen as Minneapolis' lesser, even unimportant sibling. St. Paul is older and quieter, no doubt more dignified than Minneapolis. It's the state capital and has a personality that is quite distinct from the younger, more brash Minneapolis. Also, "Minneapolis Twins" would make no sense at all as the team is named in honor of both cities.

I've never forgiven the Twins for the 91 World Series, and beating the Braves.
Or was that 92? Pretty sure it was 91, that was so long ago lol.

Depends.
If --in the coming months-- foreign terrorists were to happen to make some notable building in some large American city fall, the GOP will not simply hold their convention in said city, but a joyous and wild victory celebration.
