British Troops in Iraq have begun to withdraw from their base at Basra Palace in the southern city,the Iraqi Defence Ministry has announced.

Most of the troops withdrew months ago, leaving only the 550 actually in Basra.

Yeah, the said 550 have now withdrawn leaving Basra to fend for itself.

Well, at least something in Iraq went the way it was supposed to.
