This tradition of having dinners and what not on Labor day must not be something that is too popular around here - I don't know anyone that does it.
As for me - I'll be working on Monday. :(

I'm sorting train wreck photos, and should have them posted on my site before the weekend's over. Later today I need to take a run by the Apple store and give Steve Jobs more of my hard earned cash.
This afternoon, my neighbor is having a Q with the low rider club, and I'm having a bunch of bikers over. This ought to make for an interesting night of drunken motor heads

Yesterday was pretty good. Three of my kids and their families came over and we spent the day playing whiffle ball, hitting golf balls into a net, swimming and generally just being together. There were eleven of us all told.
My one son and his wife came the day before from Pennsylvania and slept over so we started celebrating at breakfast. Then two other families came for a lunch time barbecue of burgers, pepperonin on the grill, corn on the cob and salads. That evening we had barbecued ribs, pasta, meatballs, sausage, garlic bread, chicken cutlets parmagian, and salad. We finished the evening making S'mores in the chiminea.
All in all a great day.

HA! I'm working my tuchus off! While all you happy fun people are out there doing happy fun things, I'm taking care of your doggies and kitties, horses and chickens, fish and birds.
In addition to 8-10 pet sitting jobs each day (beginning on Thursday, ending Monday night), I'm supposed to be writing an auction catalog.
*sigh*
No rest for the wicked! :drive:

Now that sounds fun. I couldnt even convince my family to play a game of Rook last night.
We did end up going to the drive in though and at least being together. I wish my family would have more of these type get togethers.

was suppose to go to my baby neices christening today but my youngest daughter put up a fit about going and wanted to stay home,so I stayed home with her and my dad took my oldest daughter with him.
Tomorrow is the last official day of summer vacation for my girls so I'm trying to think of something to do with them.

Well at least you are doing something that is majorly nice, kind and helpful.
I on the other hand began a PowerPoint presentation. It was going along swimmingly 'til I decided to experiment by adding some music. The #$%^& thing has now frozen on one slide and will not advance.
I have tried everything I can think of to get it to advance to the other 23 slides which are all cropped and edited and have pretty colours added to them... gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !@#% %^&* !@#$%^
I had to walk away from it or I was going to take a hammer to my computer. :(

Labor Day or as you would call it, Labour Day is a day that honors the working man and woman. It is what is usually called May Day in Europe only here it occurs on the first Monday in September. In the U.S. it generally marks the end of summer.
A Hotpocket is sort of like a meat pasty.

Just about everyone but essential persons like doctors, nurses, police, fire fighters, etc. Schools are closed today, there is no mail delivery or trash pick up and most people are off from work. Retail people are still working because this is a big shopping day.

Wish I got holidays, ahhh to be a shift worker on a 24/7/365 mission. Gotta love that shit. I spent all day sleeping due to the fact that I'm working nights this month. I get to go into work at 3am, lol. Usually 11, but there is not anything going on, so yeah.

True, and I work less than 40 hours a week most weeks too, so I can't complain that much. I get Fri-Sun off all of September as well.
