View Full Version : A "new" me?

Yep, I've almost decided to do it... I'm thinking of height reduction surgery. For those that are not familiar with this, I will have my lower leg removed and my ankle joint and knee joint "fused" together. This will limit my jumping ability (but since I'm old and white it should make no difference anyways). I played baseball and softball for years, I retired from that, so the lack of speed and mobility should pose no problems

I'm currently 6' - 1".... strike that... I'm 6' - 1 1/4"... I must learn to measure myself to the largest 1/4" increment. This is all "new" to me, please forgive.

After the surgery, I'll be about 4' - 10 3/4" tall. This may seem a large change, but I think I'm ready for it. No longer will I have to look at the dandruff of most fellow workers... I'll be "eyeball to nipple", so to speak, with many of the ladies now. My own wife, who is 5' - 2" will have to bow her head for a kiss... let's see how she likes that! I also can't wait for the slow dance tunes at the office Christmas party!

Reasons for this surgery:

I'll never have to hear "Honey, come here and put this bowl in the top cabinet" again.

I will be able to change the oil in my truck without having to jack it up.

If I'm in an "ass-hole", I can blame it on "LMS".

I can be in the shade in a crowd at an amusement park (I hope I'll be tall enough to ride the coasters though).

Since my arms will remain their current length, I should be able to tie my shoes/pick up items off the floor... without bending and back stress.

My "special friend" will appear enormous.

Golf should be a breeze, I'll obviously lose distance, but marking the ball and retrieving a sank putt will more than make up for that.

Those "dust bunnies" under the furniture will be dead meat.

I will be able to ride my golden retreiver around the house/yard.

People will be less intimidated and more compassionate/sympathetic towards me.

I can ask kids if I can sit on their shoulders during a parade.

The possibilities seem endless... what do you guys/gals think? Am I just caught up in the moment, or is this a great idea?

It's really not worth it. Many boys take hormone growth pills hoping they'd one day reach your height; you should be thankful.
Also, you'll look funny with long arms and short legs (orangutan?).
The costs outweigh the benefits... What does your wife think of this?

I don't believe that some people are actually taking you seriously, OP.

I think you should go head on into the abyss... it will be fun. If you don't like it, they can do reconstructive surgery AND you can sue them for misleading you.

It's a win, win, situation.

I expect a kick back for the advice by the way.
