A 17 year-old boy was refused admittance to school this week when he showed up dressed as a girl... at MY ALMA MATER!!
It is indeed a mad, mad, mad (etc.) world.

It'd be different if he was pretty, but poor thing makes one ugly girl.
Bless his heart.

That's just as good as the other story on that same page about the boy not being allowed to return to school because his hair is dyed.
Freedom of Expression is not only dead...in some cases, it's just wrong.

I don't know...with a new haircut, a bit of a diet, and less makeup, he'd look pretty good.
IOW, he'd look like a guy.

I've seen plenty of actual girls who don't even look as good as he does...

A real "two-bagger" regardless of orientation.
Who knew theoverlydramaticqueenfromtreehuggerland was now attending school in TX?

Well he said that no students had ever bothered him or complained. That makes it seem like it is not a problem to me. Maybe he is just going through a faze. He is a teenager! I have a neighbor that is transgendered and the most friendly person in my complex. I should have some of her boyfriends! She told me she has a lot of married guys come on to her. Go figure.

Living in San Francisco, I can buy that, PK. And I think the reason no students bothered him or complained might have something to do with the fact that it was the first day of school.
Can't think of a much bigger distraction in a mostly hispanic high school than a transvestite student. I'll be watching to see what happens to him/her/him, and will report back.

Only a blue-eyed white kid could do that.

It's not too uncommon to see Hispanics with fair skin and light eyes. In Costa Rica you even see blond hair pretty frequently.

So very true!!!
Went to a restaurant in downtown Dallas once and the "hostess" that seated us was an "it". I didn't believe it but my date at the time brought it to my attention and said "look at the hands....dead giveaway every time" ..... sure 'nuf...then I looked at the throat for confirmation. Wasn't really "ugly" but definitely "homely".

Was hoping I could find a video of the newscast I saw last night, showing Luis walking up the school steps. He was finally allowed to attend school because he ditched the skirt and dressed 'more appropriately' in capri pants, a stripped teeshirt... and white high-heels.
Or, as one local blogger described it:
Apparently, the threat level has been raised from "yellow" to "chartreuse."

LOL...doesn't that just defeat the purpose of banning him from school in the first place?

The official word was... it's against school policy for a boy to wear a skirt. However, capri pants are not mentioned.
Can't tell you how funny he looked walking up the steps in those high heels!

I think they should let him wear the skirt. What's the big deal?

I can only imagine him breaking a heel and throwing a fit about it. Maybe he'll make himself feel better with a manicure/pedicure during lunch break.

Um, DF... the skirt was REAL short. I mean, girls have enough problems, can you imagine how difficult it would be to keep his, uh, secret secret??
I LOLed when they showed him trying to prove his skirt was 'regulation' length (must be longer than one's fingertips). He had his elbows bent a good inch to make sure his big ole long arms didn't pass him hemline. (Or is that himline??)

I thought his hemline looked longer than most of the girls' skirts I see...
