Y'nose like thick creamy COLD potato soup.
Now this Vick fellar is lyin thru his pearly whites.
Michael Vick told ESPN that he never killed a dog
or gambled.
What a crock.
When the Fed move in,it's usually after exhaustive years of
scraping the floor for every angle and fingerprint leading to rock
solid conviction. The Fed investigated Vick since 2001 and
his Goose was cooked.Even his Buds in his Dog Fighting Rackett
turned states evidence and ratted him out.
So,in face of inevitability and MORE charges like Federal
Racketeering charges and IRS tax evasion,Vick cops a guilty
plea. And of course NOW,some are taking sides and making Vick
seem like maybe he ain't such a bad dude, and after all it's
only dogs and everyone gambles and since he's a BLACK he's
already persecuted and blah...blah... whoopie and 2 shoes
to the sheets of White power windmills and blah...blah...
In face of Vicks latest direct LYING to ESPN to save some face and
maybe garner enough support to influence what discretion the judge
will have in determining Vick's jail sentence.
Vick will either get NO time and only a fine,up to $250,ooo
or that amount and 5 years and all things in-between.
I hope he gets the 5 now.Plus a Lifetime BAN,since gambling is
an NFL Bannable offence.Vick also should face Racketting charges
for establishing and maintaining Dog Fighting rings in numerous
States.A RICO offense.
That'll teach this latest batch of Coldhearted Vichyssoise from
heat'n up.

I heard yesterday afternoon that even Vic's Pops sold
him short.Told how his son was pretty heavy into dog fighting
even in collage.
Now Jamie Fox is in on the debate.
This bidness that Dog Fighting is like, juts a ghetto thing.
It OK,since Poor projects folk, are exposed and what they gonna
do bout it.Run to the Cops.
Just like when a Cop says Stop.
Some folk just can't git it thru their head that means
STOP,Not start runnin.
It all boils down to upbringing and behavior. Many a Poor parent
with only pencil & pad, taught their Kids how to Read, write
and dude writmatick.Plus respect for elders and stuff like Cops
and Dogs.I mean,Dogs & Cops.

There are some out there now,who say...Let Vick slide.
Limit the NFL suspension and defer all jail time.
Make him do some Community service and put all those
millions { NFL contract,endorsements } to work.
Like make him say he's Voluntarily giving $10 Million to
ASPCA and Peta.
I disagree.I wanna see him made an example of.
Juts like he did to dogs that Lost in the Fighting Pens.

I do not know what to do with him. If watching other creatures get torn apart is something one can numb ones feelings to, if one enjoys another's pain, if one can impart suffering upon another creature and have no desire to remove the suffering then I think that person has serious mental problems.
I would like to see them do a mental evaluation on him. I do not know him and perhaps with other humans he has a heart of gold, but I do believe it is beings such as him that wipe out their entire family and then everyone says, "wow, what a surprise".
I think such tendencies should be looked upon seriously not just dismissed.

What kind of time should he do?
Maybe make him work at the local humane society on his probation after he gets out.

There would be some justice in allowing him to continue to compete in the NFL and watching him face 2 tons of pissed-off, dog-loving defensive players and then seeing just how well his own team protects him. He might last 1 or 2 plays.
However, forfeiting several million $$ plus never playing in the NFL again, on top a felony convition is ok, even if he never spends more than a few hours behind bars.

Dogs & Cats are pets. They are God's gift to humanity.
There is a movement now,to equate Pets with Cattle or
chicken.Even Pigs.
Pigs can be pets. But NOT Cattle or Chicken.
To be a Pet means devotion and requited Love.
I'm a Pet Lover.
And virtually ALL Serial Killers, demonstrate some if not a
heapin of Cruelty to animals. It's a telltale sign and indication
of where one places their priorities or inner sadistic cravings.
If word hadn't got out that Vick was sadistic and executed
and tortured some of his dogs, then I don't think he should
receive heavy jail time. But given he actually killed dogs
by such means as extreme cruelty and torture,he needs
the book more than just thrown at he.He needs to eat every
single page,and w/o any water...first.

Yes, I understand what you are saying about serial killers. They begin perhaps with insects and work their way up to small animals and then people.
Also, when animal control is called into an abuse situation they are supposed to look for the hierarchy of abuse. Abuse is reined down upon those who are weaker therefore if an animal is being abused there is a human component as well. Either the woman or the children or perhaps both, are suffering.
Sometimes even the man can be the victim although we as a society are not comfortable with the latter possibility.
The man is not stable. I like es' idea of putting him back on the field. Kind of like letting a segregated prisoner escape back into the regular jail population. Then suddenly they slip on a broom handle, he would perhaps end up on the bottom of a very heavy human pileup.

I have to respectfully disagree with you here Sal.
I despise dog fighting, and would never watch one; I would not want to see such bloody viciousness.
But your equating Vick to having some sort of murderous psychopath tendencies is -IMO- off the mark; a recent report on television stated that around 40,000 people in this country are involved in the activity of dogfighting. It is very big in the deep South. I cannot believe that all 40,000 of those people are the type of psychos who could kill their own relatives.
I absolutely love dogs.....but what I find incredible about this is the level of vehemence that has been directed toward Vick.......not to mention my disbelief at him being kicked out of the league. He broke a law, just like hundreds of OTHER players have broken numerous different laws. Decide on a punishment, and move on.
Quite a few professional athletes have abused/beaten their wives and girlfriends, and I don't know of any who were kicked out of the NFL. People sometimes seem to care more about dogs being abused than they do other human beings.
Just my 2 cents.

You'd have found that I did imply Vick wasn't sought out
for mere dog fight betting. But ruther all the accumulated horror
stories that implicated him a a Man { more like cruel tormentor }
who housed, trained and set up a Dog Fighting Racket replete
with compounds and Nazi-like methods for breeding, toughening

I personally think anyone that participates in animal fighting activities (cock fights, dogs, whatever) is seriously mentally bent, but that's just me. Maybe Michael Vick is really a sweet, kind, loving sort of guy... but I doubt it.
In fact, I'd bet my house on it.
But beyond this, Vick is apparently a complete moron, as well. Check this out:

I disagree on the cock fighting.
Anyone who thinks cock fighting is "cruel" or inhumane or a sign of mental derangement ought to see how the chickens are raised (where American's hot wings from the local bar, their Hardee's chicken sandwich, their chicken tettrazzini at the local Italian restaurant and their chicken McNuggets all come from) in the huge commercial operations in America.
There is nothing --absolutely nothing-- about cock fighting that is as *cruel* as the ways these birds are raised.

Again yer trying,as is quite typical of Liberals to rationalize
something that doesn't apply.
Like I also said in another of my comments, there is a movement
afoot to EQUATE Farm animals { Chicken,cattle,even pigs}
with Pets { Dogs,Cats }.Dogs & Cats aren't intended for food.
They have distinct ability to reciprocate and freely give affection
and warm-hearted Love to humans.Cattle & Chicken,CANNOT under
ANY circumstance do that.
Therein lies the HUGE difference.
I hope that isn't too convoluted a principle to comprehend.

...a recent report on television stated that around 40,000 people in this country are involved in the activity of dogfighting.
It's just a bunch of bleeding heart liberal, puppy loving cry-babies getting in the way of a business enterprise in what is supposed to be a free, capitalistic country. All the SP's out there want to deny the Traditional roots of the noble sport of dog fighting and keep the black/Southern man in his place, all the while saying they care. Come on people, he only strangled/drowned the ones who weren't any good at fighting! He gave them a chance first, like all good clean American small business would. But, hey, you guys all want equal outcomes, not equal opportunity. These dogs had a chance to be real dogs, for cryin' out loud.
Now we'll see what the liberal federal judge wants to do. First Roe v Wade, now this. This country is going to the...well, you know.

The very fact that it is big in the deep south should actually reinforce your belief that these people are psychotic shouldn't it... :D
I see what he did as having implications larger than just "breaking the law" with regard to animals. I would like to see the penalty/punishment for animal abuse and cruelty ramped up in a huge way. Any creature under our care should have the right to a certain standard/quality life. These animals have no control over what is done to them. Their only protection is under the law and as such the law needs to be clear and punishment for the breaking of such laws needs to be harsh.
I also have no problem in wondering about his psychological makeup. Violence begets violence. Is he going to kill his family just because he enjoys viewing the pain and suffering of another creature? Probably not, but possibly so. There's certainly more inclination than someone who abhors violence. He embraces it. People who embrace violence and enjoy that sport certainly are not the kind I would be comfortable with in my social circle.
I think that people found guilty of such crimes should be assessed mentally.
I understand the vehemence directed toward him. I abhor him now.
As for a comparison between animal abuse and the beating of a girlfriend or wife, while I find that even more repulsive, the girlfriend or wife has the option of leaving. The dogs do not, so we need to do it for them.

Fired because like in Baseball,it is a golden rule to not engage

wrote a tell all book, explaining his gambling addiction. And yes he did

It's been learned that the NFL has been flooded with E-mails,letters
and phone calls, about the Vick business.Mostly negative.
Each week,a new set of PR problems has arisen for the Commissioner.
Even diehard NFL fans are swearing off the game,if Vick is allowed back
on the field.
As one Broadcast announcer for ESPN put it." I don't EVER want

Holy, okay that makes sense with the betting thing. Remember at the winter olympics there was that hockey scandal with what's his face. Damn his name slips my mind and he's Canadian. As far as Vick, his goose wasn't cooked for merely betting
