View Full Version : If You Were To Fabricate "Heaven"...

Let's say you are a god and you came up with the idea that you will tell humans about some things to do and not do and when a person satisfies certain requirements you will put them in a place called heaven, where you will tell them is the place they cannot possibly be happier in. Now you don't want to eat your words and make a heaven that is flawed in one way or another so that some other gods laugh at you later on. And granted you are extremely powerful. You are as powerful as the humans' mind can imagine you to be and make sense of, although not beyond that.

How would you go about making this "heaven", so that it will ensure that every person who enters will be eternally and optimally happy?

Just make it whatever they imagine it to be.

Then do you make a personalized heaven for each individual?

What if A and B both go to heaven, A's life long dream is to marry B, but B really doesn't like A?

Well then you'd have to change people's attitudes when they get to heaven. Or create a clone of B in A's individual heaven for A to marry.

I would make a personalized heaven for each individual. That seems best.

It does seem easier, Ren. Especially when you think about situations like the one Dio brought up!

Cool.

So, do you think the happiest a person can possibly be is to give them whatever they imagine ultimate happiness is? That seems debatable.

Dark you brought up an interesting point when you say change people's attitudes.

Technically, as a powerful god, you can alter the mind of every person who enters heaven so that all they want is to eat pancakes. And you fill heaven up with pancakes.

This is curious because now does this really constitute a valid promise of happiness? If the human subjects know beforehand this is going on, what do you think their reactions would be?

Maybe heaven is just an abscence of conflict. IOW, peace.

That's something very right, Dio. No one has EVER been happy by having everything they ever wanted.

In fact, they were miserable.
