" You won't find it in the Guinness Book of World Records,
but Andre the Giant holds the world record for the largest
number of beer consumed in a single sitting."
How many {12 oz.} beers and how long ?
It was beyond the ken of mortal men.God-like in scope.
A beer every 3 minutes non stop.

.....for how long?

And as a sidebar,Andre had back surgery, which was needed to
get him back in the arena for another Wrestlemania, curtesy of
longtime exclusive U.S. promoter and friend,Vince McMahon.
Retired and struggling over the years with bad posture and back
problems,he was called up by Mcmahon while visiting his ailing
father in France. The surgery took place there.
There was a problem, besides having to makeshift a big
enough operating table and necessary instruments.
How much a dose should the anesthesiologist give Andre.
Too mcuh and he'd probably die.Too little and the waking Giant
might erupt in the throes of an opened back/spine.
The Doc asked Andre if he drank.
The Gentle Giant, said yes,he'd been known to tip back a
glass from time to time. The doc then asked how much and what it
took to get drunk.
" Well," rumbled the Giant, " It usuallyy takes two litres of Vodka
just to make me feel warm inside. "\
And thus was a solution found.Still used to this day,the gas-passer
was able to extrapolate a correct mixture for Andre by analyzing his
alcohol intake.

Yes,how long did it take Andre to set the record for most
number of beers drunk in a single sitting.?

119 beers in 6 hours. Andre was a world class drunk, but had a heart o gold.

Godspeed.

Yes,that is entirely correct.
He also never truly harmed a soul in his life.
He did play pranks and was often goaded at length,by those
wanting to dethrone such an awesome Giant.

Andre the Giant was a helluva man.

Andre the Giant was a helluva man.

Well yes,that's goes w/o saying.
But to hear from those closest to him,he was also a
kind,generous and good-hearted fellow.
He had a huge cross to bear.Instead of being a frustrated
recluse,he chose to Live life and expand. Was even offered
a chance by Geoge Allen to play pro football.
But he turned down in favor of a more lucrative career in
wrestling.Plus his bar tabs were often staggering.
One could say,the Guy had the thirst of near 10 average men.
Seldom one to even come close to passsing out,he did just that
after finishing 119 beers in 6 hrs.Never made it to his Hotel room.
Passed out in the hall, where a fortunate mate, found a Piano
cover to toss over the sleeping drunk Giant.

After seeing Imp's answer, I realize that it is too late for me to be thinking, as I just figured out what you meant by "how long"

That does it...screw homework, i'm going to bed.

119 beers in 6 hours. This seems utterly impossible. Almost one per minute for six hours?! Is this an actual, documented achievement?

Let's submit this to Myth Busters. They'll come up with ways to test if it's even possible.

It's one every three minutes.Thanks. Actually quality-control seems to be my weak point. I actually busted out a calculator, calculated out the correct number, then wrote the post wrong. Very nice. (Note time of post.):lolhit:

Sounds more like an urban legend!

The Guinness Book was an idea'r thunk up by one of Guinness'
employee to verify what managing Director,Sir Hugh Beaver
thought was The Fastest Game bird.
Recently, food and alcohol consumption records have not
been permitted entry, probably more due to litigation.
Therefore Andre's Zenith feat is not recorded.I believe it
was a TIME magazine article,maybe 20 years ago,that
mentioned his more than 100 bottle feat.I also distinctly
remember that many beers were also European, making for
a stronger alc. content, and Euro beers don't quaff as easy.
The Worlds Strongest Beer is Now made by Samuel Adams.
But I've actually had the previous strongest or :
---------- E.K.U. "28" -------

Ernst Kulmbacher "28" is fantastically hard to drink.
It tastes like a really strong Imperial stout, that was douched
with mollasses and strong coffee and jack daniels.
I managed to drink one.I had to thin my second with a really
light beer. They had t-shirts made up with the slogan
--- I Survived 2 EKU's ---.
