I am new to the sight and am looking for someone to converse with since I am house-bound due to my disabilities. Is there anyone out there ready to talk?

Hi again Gimp.
What happened? I have worked with physical therapy patients. I know it's a hard struggle to go through. I hope you are okay.

If you are really interested, it is a long story but in a way funny in a warped since of humer, I guess...It started in July, 1994 while I was boarding an Avis van in Michigan to go get my rent car (I used to travel a lot for business). The driver shut the doors on me and crushed both shoulders, then when two guye finally pried them open she came back to see what had happened, but didn't put the brake on so the van started moving...she ran up and slammed on the brake, throwing me down on the isle, hiting the metal hand rail and having my large suit case crush my right arm. I was left with permanent nerve damage in my left arm to due to damage in my c-5,6 & 7, had 2 surgeries on my right shoulder and a year of IV drips for pain. Just as I was managing the pain with it, my blood pressure was so low that I started fainting..one morning I fainted when my left foot was under my kitchen cabinets...there went my ankle! I now have a fake ankle..long story short, it took 6 surgeries on the ankle, including a bone transplant. Know I am having knee surgery tomorrow. I cannot drive due to the fainting...spent 5 days in ICU once because I fainted at orthopedic surgeons and came to with blinding headach, no pluse or blood pressure. Was pronounsed legally disabled 12/2003 after I was fired, never wanted to go that route but had no choice

I'm stupid...what is "doh"?

DOH is what Homer Simpson sez when there are no better words to describe what he just saw/heard. I think that's what Lager meant.
Sorry about your problems. That's some story... I hope you're now part owner of Avis. (the Bastardos)

Original here, too. 50-something years also. What part of town did you grow up in? Oak Cliff here.. but don't be scared... I'm reformed now.

I live in Addison area, but since I rarely leave my condo, what I see are the beautiful trees in the atrium and my flowers on my patio so I don't have to deal with the rest of the mess. I did live in Plano for 28 years - talk about plastic land, but it wasn't that way when we moved their (I'm divorced). It was a quiet little town of 44,000, not 250,000.

Yeah, I don't care much for the north side of town... too much traffic, too many people. I still live in OC, but in the far SW corner. Nice quiet area with lots of trees and rolling hills.
I do the DART rail to work (downtown).
Nice to meet you, DM. Hope you'll stick around and add to the discussions.

Know I am having knee surgery tomorrow.
oh my god that sounds like a terrible bout of bad luck. I hope your knee surgery goes O.K.... I myself am on the IR. I was part of an outreach program that helped innercity kids get a taste of certain things they would normally nevr experiance. We took 5 teenagers 15-18 hunting on a ranch. All 5 teens took two days of gun safety classes and where under supervison at all times. Well to make a long story short there was an accident and a kid fell and his rifle discharged and blasted me in the knee cap at 10 yards.
Needless to say I have a plastic knee cap and countless surgeries. Not to mention the best drugs insurance can buy. So welcome to the forums. It is nice to see someone else here that has nothing to do all day like me.

I have nothing to do all day at the moment since I'm on a break between summer and fall semester classes... 2 more weeks til I go back to school. I post a lot when I'm in school too though, since my classes take up only 4 hours of the day.

Surgery went fine, but hurts like hell...Doc said was one of worst knees he's seen in a long time so I needed to slow down on the rehab exercises I was doing...too ambitious to get it back to normal...said it would be 6 - 8 weeks!
YUCK! But thanks for asking...What is up with you?
