Any time that a born again christian stands on a pedistal with the American flag to his righr and a bible in his left hand and shouts (TRUST ME.) You had best keep your pants up and your legs crossed as you are in for a holy screwing.

Bush isnt't *born again.
He grew up like "Rose-vult" {F.D.R }an Episcopalian.
Even went off to Massachutes to attend school,Phillips Academy
for Bush and Groton for Franklin.
Both went to Harvard, and I imagine both sworn in with a Flag
& Bible in clear view.
As to how they wore their pants, beneath a lecturn,is a nutter
question.
I know how One BillyBob,previous Pres, wore his pants.
Fair to Middlin to None, when in the throes of a hearty day
behind {er under} that Oval Office {orifice} desk.
Merely became a United Methodist when marrying his wife.

There are many articles that imply that Bush is a born again and some of them have Bush himself as a contributor.

" Being Born-again " is just a denominations way of saying
that had an event or occurance bringing Salvation.
It's just a buzz phrase.I know that sounds tacky and silly.
But since religion is basically a very personal relationship
the import of running arround citing one as " Born-Again "
holds no water.

In your own weird, incomprehensible way, you've hit upon the crux of the problem, Foolsworth. Religion SHOULD BE a very personal relationship with one's god(s) - NOT a political football.

Bumpy, I used to ask this question on AllForums occasionally but no one was able to answer it.
How has President Bush's religion affected you or the country?
PS - Democrats use the Bible and churches far more than any Republican.
If they're genuine about it, your problem should be with them.
If they're not, that's even worse.

Why not ask the Biggy.
That Bush/Cheney went into Iraq for Oil.
As Rove stated this Morn on -- Meet the Press -- that is THE
Motivation for Terrorists and Al Qaeda.
They're { Al Qaeda and Terrorists } in Iraq for Oil Monopoly.
We're there to help stabalize the region and keep it from
being Lionized by Brutal Dictators and Rogue elements.
Just because France,Germany and Russia kinda liked doin bidness
with the Sadaam of Old,don't make it right.
Actually, making it Left.As in what Leftists were perfectly
comfortable in having.A Sadaam as kind of Middle East Dictator
Celebrity.

I believe even Georgy Porgy said he was " Born-Again " a few
times.I'm a Catholic and that means absolutely nothing.
In point of fact,Catholics are like Orthodox Jews when it comes
to their Religion.
We sincerly believe OURS is the one and only.
Catholics used to favor the practice of proselyting {Converting}
in years past. But the late Great Pope John Paul wasn't too keen
on preaching Catholism as THE only source of spirituality.
And Mother Teresa detested the practice of Converting.
She only tried to convert Mothers from having unwanted pregnancies.
And every Fetus was Humanly inspired and sacred.

If they're not, that's even worse. Democrats use the Bible and churches far more than any Republicans??? Where did you come up with that ? I doubt that very seriously! And of course Bush's religion has affected the country. How about stem-cell research. How about marriage for gays and lesbians. That's two just off the top of my head. I can't believe you did not get an answer to that question when you posted on a allforums thread. How long ago was that?

Don't be ridiculous, both sides use religion.
Stem-cell research was only denied to a certain point and since that semi-denial they have found a new way to get stem cells from umbilical cords rather than embryo. So don't pretend like he has really stopped anything from being cured. They know so little about what stem-cells can actually do for science and what the best ways of using/obtaining them are anyhow so don't get all worked up about stem-cell legislation.
The majority of people in the United States regardless of religion oppose gay marriage.
I post this as a semi-conservative atheist for all those wondering what my belief background is. Anyways, I spent alot of years thinking one side was better than the other, this was better than that, etc. They are there for money and power and those who don't want either don't last long.
Here's a site that has a long, but extensively accurate article and what Bush says about his faith: (if anyone here actually cares)
