We get upset.
You say, Why are you upset? All I said was, these christians rock.
We get more upset.
You act confused.
Freethinker jumps in and claims we're blinded by faith and incapable of rational thought.
You ask Freethinker to the bathroom.
Freethinker accepts.
End of thread.

It's cheesy yea.. but no reason to make fun of a whole entire faith just because one church happens to be musically inclined.. not that music has much to do directly with the church...
If you want christian music that rocks.. check out DC Talk, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, or Reality Check...

When I am on Long Island I attend a traditional service. When I am in Florida I attend a contemporary service. Both are valid forms of worship.
At the traditional service I am reminded of the awe inspiring nature of God and the continuity of His church on earth as I worship in a manner similar to that in which my forefathers worshiped. I sing hyms that were written hundreds of years ago in a musical stlye reminicent of Medieval or Victorian times.
When I worship at a contemporary service I am reminded of the immediacy of God in my life, the fact that he is not only a God of times past but a God for today. I listen to the drums and the sax and the trumpets and sing modern songs of praise and I am uplifted.
We are told to worship God in joy with music and with dance. I see nothing wrong with the worship shown in the video clip. I see joyful Christians worshipping God with their hearts, minds, voices and bodies.

I thought it was pretty funny.
They are horribly off tune, no wonder the girl in the front row was crying.
It brought a tear to my eye.
I also suppressed the urge to puncture my ear drums with this #2 pencil.

Wow.
The two women flitting about between the congregation and the rock stars seem to be truly "in the spirit".
So graceful. So inspiring.
[/sarcasm]
ROTFL. I'm glad I wasn't there, and not just because of the torturously BAD music; I would not have been able to keep from laughing my ass off. They probably would have frowned on it.....

I'm glad I wasn't there either, I probably would have asked you to accompany me to the bathroom. ;)

Daaaayyyumm.
Just surfed YouTube a bit and watched a few videos related to the first one on this thread.
This *Water of Life* group is <cough cough> amazing.
If you want to see into the mind of a True Believer, go to --

-- and watch the video of this Doyle Davidson fellow, the *preacher and apostle of God*
He is truly, truly disturbed.

I don't deny that it's bad music... it hurts to listen. But just leave it at that.. bad music. Don't tie in religious overtones with it.. that makes you look like a bigot.

I hate to say it Decka, but the only reason this thread was posted is because..

well then why is it in the religious section? If it's just "bad music".. it should be in the "music section"... right?

I guess, I dont know. All I can say is, he picked one thing that looks bad and posted it and he didnt do it with any other lifestyles, or identities.
He chose this one peticular.
So maybe the religious section would be the best place to post it. To highlight his intentions.

It's christian folk. That's why I think they posted it here in the first place.
Still, not sure what the point of it was.

What a bunch of musical hacks those Christains are....
Here are a few more examples of their crappy music
Bothering people at a shipyard. YouTube - Oh Happy Day !!! At Navy Pier 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csJ0x3UPHww)
Do they think this is classical? YouTube - Trinity Church Hallelujah Chorus 2006 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNvo3-aRwEc)
One to tick off several here. YouTube - Mormon Tabernacle Choir (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEAEcca9pRk)
My favorite hymn (of course, what do I know). YouTube - "It Is Well With My Soul"

I really don't think God would care if the worshippers had good voices or perfect choreography. They were worshipping in a joyous way. Why do some of you seem to have a problem with that?

I think it looks like a group of people highly moved by what is occurring in the room.
Nothing wrong with that. There's peace there. Live and let live.
I didn't even think the music sounded all that bad actually.

(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPFVijGcLtI&mode=related&search=)Actually, those were pretty good.
Frogger...I don't have a problem with them worshipping to their god, just wish they could do it on key.
btw, are ducks tone deaf? ;p

btw, are ducks tone deaf? ;p
What?
Oh, no just deaf in general eh? You've heard Donald's voice, well he's a first cousin. Listen to that at family gatherings year after year and see if their musical sound quality doesn't improve by comparison.

yea while other people may make fun, I doubt they care too much if you think they are "rockin" or singing well... It's your intentions at heart, not what you put out. If someone can't sing well, should that stop them from wanting to praise their Lord with a song?
