WILL THE OCCUPATION OF IRAQ BRING DOWN THE U.S. ECONOMY? LEARN FROM THE FALL OF ROME , U.S. WARNED BY GAO

The Comptroller General of the U.S. , David Walker, describes an unsustainable series of policies and practices that are threatening a crisis for the United States . Among the policies he refers to are an overextended military, foreign entanglements and the Iraq War. The US government is on a ?burning platform? of unsustainable policies and practices with fiscal deficits, chronic healthcare underfunding, immigration and overseas military commitments threatening a crisis if action is not taken soon?

I would like to see the US economy after oil prices will jump over 100 bucks. Comparing to this overextended military spenidngs is not that serious..

I presume you mean $100/bbl Dz -- that's not enough.

$10/gal at the pump. That's the ticket that will finally turn this country on to the right track.

it is already costing well over 10 dollars a gallon, but the oil industry is subsidized. then estimate the cost on the environment, health, etc.. people just don't bitch because it doesn't bite them on the ass all at once at the pump.

the military NEEDS the oil to run. no oil, and those tanks and jeeps, and such and fancy plastics wouldn't exist. kind of hard to get a M-1 abrams tank to run fast as they do on solar power.
