Yepsen: Republicans seem lethargic about choices (http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070812/OPINION01/708120348/1001)
Ames, Ia. - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney may have won the Iowa Republican straw poll here Saturday, but his victory was a bit hollow. There are signs he may not be the prohibitive front-runner in Iowa after all.
Only 14,302 people voted in the poll, far fewer than the 23,685 who cast ballots in the last big straw poll in 1999.
That's a sign Republicans are not happy with their choices. At least they aren't excited enough to brave the summer heat to vote for them.
Romney got 4,516 votes, fewer than the 7,418 votes George W. Bush received when he won the 1999 straw poll.

Given that they had to "recount the votes" and the extremely low vote count, this seems a little fishy.

What does this mean?
Are they going to vote for Democrats next November?

No.
Reading the article, it seems quite clear that it means that the Republican voters do not have much enthusiasm about the choices.

It's funny, because a high turn out would have been spun this way too, and posted by the same useful idiot.

...... a high turn out would have been spun this way too.
That is a very illogical prophecy.

Maybe this just shows that very few people care right now because we're worrying about our next presidential candidate way too early in the race.
I'm one of those.

That is a very illogical prophecy.
It may be illogical but you are not denying it would be made.

I do not know if it would or not.
But I find it --to put it mildly-- extremely unlikely.

Last night on his radio show Drudge kept playing Obama's singing:

He definitely sings better than Hillary.

Reading the article, it seems quite clear that it means that the Republican voters do not have much enthusiasm about the choices.Well to repeat my original question, that you and Dhrama Q think reflects my not reading the article:
What does this mean?
Are they going to vote for Democrats next November?
In other words, so what?
Were Bush-haters enthused about John Kerry? Probably not.
