Joy Division was more "post-punk". Well a lot of people say Joy Division invented goth rock! :)

I have seen all these bands in concert except Bauhaus, although I've seen Love and Rockets and that is them without Peter Murphey! :)

I like the smaller venue shows like in clubs or small outdoor arenas. Theres very few bigger places I will go to for a concert.

Well I got my ticket for the Download festival. www.DOWNLOADFESTIVAL.COM (http://www.DOWNLOADFESTIVAL.COM) The Cure is headlining alone with 8 other bands. It's a outdoor concert in Mountain View,Ca. near San Jose. Sort of a Goth theme.

Well I went to the Download festival last saturday in Mountain View, California. It was a great day/evening for a outdoor show. The concert started at three and I got there a little late. She Wants Revenge was already playing when I walked in. They were great although I would have liked to have seen them at night instead of during the day. The sound was great for this show. There were two stages. One stage was in one of the parking lots. You could just walk back and forth without going through security. I saw She Wants Revenge(great),Black Rebel Motorcycle Club(I love them),AFI(saw just the first thirty minutes then went to the other stage). I wanted to see Kings of Leon who were headlining the second stage. They really rock out and I like their music better than AFI. I saw a little bit of the band Metric who I don't care for although they seem to have a lot of fans. Another band on a third stage was the avant-garde group from San Francisco the Vau De Vire Society, they were really weird with all kinds of people in costumes. They had a big tower with people climbing around on. A lot of scantily dressed women and a couple of people on stilts that walked around the audience. Actually they did a lot of running too. I was amazed at what they could do on stilts. I think the guy was on top of the tower at the end of their performance(standing on his head with stilts). Then the Cure came on! They were so good. It was my fourth time to see them in concert. They played over two hours. The light show and stage setup was excellent. This was the only show the
Cure played in the United States. They are going to play three shows later this month in Mexico City and then back to England to finish their double cd they are working on. They did play some new stuff too. It was really a great concert with perfect weather and a good selection of bands and a great sound system for sure!

I had a great time at the Cure concert. I'm going to see She Wants Revenge next month at the Filmore. I look forward to seeing them at a smaller venue. :-):hula:
