Okay?
This war has lasted longer than any war we have fought, compared to the time frame this is our least costliest war in terms of lives. I think that alone makes it worth it. WWII if you adjust to this decade cost us about 1 trillion dollars.
If you want to focus on money you should look at the 1.33 trillion dollars China holds in US Bonds. That's what I'm concerned about.

Have you, already, forgotten the 10 years we spent in Viet Nam?

You mean how much will the OCCUPATION end up costing.
We won the "war" in Iraq years ago.

I thought about that post-facto, sorry. But the fact remains the war in Iraq has cost us far less in lives so far (vietnam = 58000+ by the end of conflict)

Very true. The sad thing is, it would have cost far fewer, if we had left when the war ended, rather than staying for the, under staffed, occupation.

Well I've done some extensive reading on the civilian and military side about this war. It seems like to me that administration led wars tend to be disastrous.
The civilian complement to the military is supposed to work WITH the military leaders to keep them in check. When the civilian leaders start changing plans themselves and setting new agenda's things get screwed up.
Don't get me wrong, if the military had their way we would have a million troops on the ground and have the country in an iron-grip. But the military was not made to conform to socio political goals. It's just not built for that.
Rumsfeld tried very hard to redesign the military to serve it's administrators. I believe he was very near succeeding.
Iraq is a mess, I think we all agree on that. I think we need to cut our losses and get out as much as anyone. However, I don't think we should do so without planning our next 2 steps. All throughout this war we have only been implementing our plans one step ahead. It's time to think further into Iraq's future and the future of that reigion.
Our presidential hopefuls have already expressed their desire to stick with the administrations current policy of military might.
The military is not going to win this war on terrorism. If it were up to me half of the military budget would be going to the CIA. We need our intelligence services now more than ever to infiltrate these organizations and stop them.

Question should read:
How much more is the US agression/occupation of Iraq going to cost?

Vietnam cost in lives was 2'058,000 + ... or the Vietnamese lives lost by the US aggression does not count?

I hate to say it, but the above picture of the Astronaut with the proper amerikan flag is pertty much what we have under our Ferless leader, the one and only GrubenFurher bush and his ministry of evil......inclusive of the Vampire cheyney......people, we don't live in America anymore; if we did, there wouldn't be any wiretaps, no armed guards at the entrence and exits of this country, nor at the airports......yes, thanks in part to the republicanazi, and those who just don't have the backbone to impeach, we are now living with a incarnation of Hitler that is just too impossible of a bastard to ignore.

Yep. Thats a the real problem. We don't realize that China can call that debt in at any time, make the whole world pissed at the U.S. for not paying it. And we'll be ruined.
