I attended the memorial service held today for Imagineer's mother who passed away on July 18th. I was concerned when Imagineer didn't attend. After the service I spoke with Imagineer's father and found out that Imagineer is currently hospitalized with a serious medical condition, the details of which I don't feel at liberty to share.
Please join me and wish Imagineer a speedy and full recovery.

Please get well, Imagineer.
And for you, this Irish blessing:
May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities, and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night blessed, sheltered, and protected.
May your soul calm, console, and renew you.
All our thoughts and prayers to you, good brother.

Oh geez, this is really bad news.
Vile I take it you will be connecting with him. Could you maybe copy all of our get well wishes and give them to him? That's what we did in another forum.
Imagineer, you aren't around a lot but when you are, you have a strong presence. I really respect your views and don't want to go too long without you around here. Get your ass back, pronto. :)
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

*UPDATE*
Imagineer suffered a mild stroke caused by a blood clot. This has caused some aphasia.
I spoke with Imagineer this morning by phone. He seemed to be recovering well, but was having some difficulty choosing his words. I spoke with one of his nurses afterwards and she said he'll likely be hospitalized for a few more days, but she was unable to say whether the aphasia would pass. Time will tell.

Oh geez that's a real concern. :( Sorry about that Vile.
They have had some success with aphasia due to stroke with acupuncture if done early enough. Just a thought.

To be fair Frogger and Fergie, I don't think Sedan meant any disrespect... it may just have been a bit of "off the cuff black humour". It is not his nature to be cruel.

I took it as a cheap shot at sisko. My apologies to Sedan if that was not his intention.

Yeah, I can understand black humor. My first thought upon hearing it was a stroke was a scene from The Simpsons.
Burns: Stroke! Stroke!
Apu: I'm rowing as fast as I can, Mr. Burns.
Burns: No, I'm having one!
But I didn't mention it because I know a lot of people can't find humor in sad things. I hope you get well soon, Imagineer.

Yeah I am very bad with the black humour stuff, always have been. I seem to be able to find humour or irony in everything even the most catastrophic situation be it personal or that of someone else. Many just can't go there and while I uderstand their distaste I can't quite grasp it.

Generally, I find black humor more acceptable live & in person rather than the written word.
