Am I going crazy or did the reporter slip in something about infanticide?

Please allforums, tell me why this permissive legislation is bad.

Hey Evak,

I know this question is off the topic of this thread, but it seems me that you have made a left turn. Has FT and Dharm gotten into your brain?

(I mean that question with all due respect)

GM, some things (pretty much everything actually) defy the ability of left-right political thinking to classify or explain.

No,

Almost everything is black and white. There is very little grey.

Either you are left of center

or

You are right of center

There are very few who are dead on center.

Either you stole the candy, or you did not steal it.

Pro Choice = Left

Pro Life = Right

Evakian seasons his corn flakes with aborted fetuses every morning, does that make him left or right wing?

So where would you place a libertarian? How about an anarchist? Or a fascist?

I don't know whether I am left or right of center. I am pro-choice, albeit slightly reluctantly, anti gun control, against the war in Iraq, for welfare and social security but not for increasing them, against government-run national health care, against the death penalty... I am neither in the left wing nor the right.

Yeah I barely caught the infanticide comment.

Basically they're saying that because politicians and government in the Netherlands are not overtly Christian, the Netherlands have become a country full of degenerates, with their pot brownies and "suicide pills".

Agreed. I'm neither.

Pro-Life, for gun control, neutral on the Iraq war (although I'm thinking more and more everyday that we should just leave and let them all kill each other), against welfare, but I think we should privatize social security, for universal health care, for the death penalty.

I agree with whatever I agree with, I don't care about left and right.

When you're quoting Bill O'Reilly like you did here, you get the award for "Dumbest comment of the month."

Interesting.

My view is that virtually everything is a shade of gray.

Very, very few things in this life are black and white.

Having that point of view is very juvenile.

I thought he was in Washington disguised as a Republican (Bush and/or Cheney), well you know, he can be in several places at the same time too...
And I bet you that with a population of 300' million souls, US has more Drugs! more Prostitutes! and more Gays wanting to get married... (Whether married or not, they still DO IT, you know)..., Ah! and as I pointed out, US has Republicans, so where do you think there is more evil?

If there is "very little gray", then color me in the minority.

I'm fiscally conservative and lean liberal on most social issues. I'm libertarian on most of my views related to governmental control of our lives.

It seems that the "talking heads" on both sides of the aisle want to pidgeon hole everyone into a "right" or "left" stance. I think that most thinking people are somewhere in the middle.

I can understand drugs being a global issue, but I fail to see why anyone cares if the netherlands has legalized prostitution or gay marriage. They are not hurting you in any way? Even drugs, Pot mainly, should not be an issue since these are all issues being wrestled with right here in America as we speak.

There are places here that want legalized marijuana, prostitution, and gay marriage. Whats the big deal? If you don't use them or take advantage of them, then don't, but I have issues with saying that anyone who does is evil. based on whose standards?
