Oscar has predicted 25 deaths by curling up next to patient in final hours

Oscar the cat seems to (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959718/)have an uncanny knack for predicting when nursing home patients are going to die, by curling up next to them during their final hours.
His accuracy, observed in 25 cases, has led the staff to call family members once he has chosen someone. It usually means they have less than four hours to live.

Wow, that's interesting. I've always thought that cats have a "sixth sense" of some sort... a bit creepy, really.

I love when nursing homes take in rescue animals.

This one is extremely interesting.

Cats have always been soul-stealing breath-suckers.

This one just doesn't hide it.

Never, never let a cat sleep on your chest. They'll steal your breath while you sleep

it's not sleeping on my chest that bothers me.....it's when he decides to spread his fat old self on my head. Neither of my cats are allowed in my room while I'm sleeping

how the hell do you get that to work... my two are snuggled down before I even get there... they take prime space.... if I lock them out the one just keep knocking on the door till I get pissed off and let them in...

neither is a chest sleeper but the one gnaws on my head for snacks at about 5 o'clock.... I'm merely the maid/slave...here to meet their every need...

I just toss them out,my fat male cat used to howl to be let in,but then learned I wasn't giving in so they now take up posts in my daughters bedroom. It helps I have my door shut when I sleep too:thumbs:

Oscar will be written up in the New England Journal of Medicine today! Quite an accomplishment for a 4-legged medical professional!

Wouldn't it freak you out to be an orderly in that nursing home, slip in an empty room for a nap on your lunch hour and wake up to find that damn cat sleeping next to you!

EGADS!!!!!

Bet he doesn't hear, "Here kitty kitty kitty" much, don't you?

:)

Yeah I would wring the little fuckers neck for good measure. Tell him if I'm going he's gonna get there first.

See, there's always a solution, even to one's demise.
