i believe every single national forest should have a sector set aside for those of us who want to K.I.S.S. , keep it simple stupid.

where no cars or atvs etc, are allowed. you can build a house if you wish, but absolutley no electric or indoor plumbing is allowed. and you do not have to pay taxes on your "property", can not sale it, only it is transfered to someone else when you die. most likely an heir. it can not be timbered, mined, etc. for profit. only used, you can raise animals, grow gardens, hunt, etc..

if any parts of above agreement are violated, you are removed form the property, land, etc., and it is given to someone else.

this would really keep out the lazy riffraff who just want a free place to live.

they have a "form " of this, but it is under the mining section of federal property law. you have to show a profit to live there from mining. and it is only done "out west".

I think that's a great idea. I certainly wouldn't do it though!

Just what we need, more stuff for the government to keep track of! Raise my taxes for the implementation of an Amish zone!

it will cost you less. no improved roads, no electric lines, phone lines, etc.. (which that you don't know are subsidized by the government in tax breaks and cuts) and let the sector community take care of itself and report to the government on occasion.

STOP all subsidization of everything. fuel, food, farmers, electric, timber, mining, etc.. let the cost reflect what everything actually costs.

You already have the right to go off on your own and live the simple life, Primitive Man. That is unless you are Randy Weaver. In that case the federal government will come on to your property and kill your wife and child.

Who's Randy Weaver?

uh, no you don't. even if you live in a national forest you have to keep moving around all the time. if you need meat and kill something out of season you go to jail, or fined.

the only people who can live in a national forest , and this is only applied in the west, are those who file a mining permit and mine the land they are on. and show they are making money. if you want to live there and keep it simple they won't let you do it.

apparently in america the only ones who are allowed to use the national forest year round and full time are those who typically rape it. like timberers and mining companies.
